...and he'd prefer your kids to play in a designated play area or in their own garden...

Guess you don't always get what you'd prefer, eh. Explains why you're still posting on here.

Incidentally, if the kids play in the garden they're nearer to his house, and make much more noise. And occasionally a stray flyaway football or tennis ball ends up in his garden (by accident, of course. No-one wants to have to ask that misery for their ball back)
Hardly a better solution for him.
  • I'm not sticking up for this man but your postings are littered with contradictions. Also in your opening post you state he has almost hit several children -yet you are still allowing your children to play here? ...and you are calling him an idiot?

    Littered with contradictions? Nope.
I also have stopped letting my son ride his bike out there now until the situation is resolved, as I have stated previously.

Well you state that children never go near his car but then contradict by saying one was caught underneath retrieving a ball.

You also state that when he moved in he knew kids lived there and played in the street but then contradict by saying there are no adequate play facilities near you so surely you knew this when you moved in?

Secondly, the parks within walking distance are full of ASBO-deserving kids who kick footballs at younger kids like mine.
    .....

So ... rather than try to get your neighbour punished because of his "driving" in a car-park - so that you can let your kids play there ...

Why not instead try to get the more serious and fundamental problem of the ASBO deserving kids resolved? So that your kids can actually play in a "play park"?

Getting petty with the neighbour and threatening to make a snow phallus on his car takes the mickey. Try dealing with the real world issues here and also do it yourselves, stop just trying to report everything to the Police. They're not your personal babysitters to make your life easier for you.

Mine and my next door neighbour's children don't go near his car. The young girl that did does not live down our end of the road, an she very rarely plays with our kids, as our children aren't allowed balls out the front.

Also, yes, we were aware there weren't adequate play facilities. It's why we filled our back garden with a swing set, slide, see-saw etc.
We moved from a house which was damaging my children's health, in a much dodgier area than the one I live in now, so y'know what I did? Accepted that whilst everything may not be perfect about the new house, it was a damn sight better than the place I was living, and I could live without a decent local play area. The local area is being regenerated with more plans for local play areas anyway, so it's only a matter of time befor there are more facilities available.

We've reported nothing to the police, nor involved them in any way.
The snow phallus wasn't a threat, it was a joke.
We have tried several times, along with most of the community, to get the ASB dealt with, but nothing happens. The council are aware f the issues, but since the local youth centre was closed, they now roam the streets.
The council say that PCSO's are monitoring the situation, but I've never seen a PCSO around here!

Why is this council's problem? They've provided the facilities (i.e. the park for kids to play in), but they're being frequented by the ASBO kids now.

What are the PCSOs supposed to do ... stand guard around the park and tell them to sling their hooks each and every time they turn up?

This is your problem, and you're chosing the easy/lazy option of ganging up on the neighbour in order to turn your own cul-de-sac into your own private play park. What then happens when the ASBO kids start hanging around outside the backs of your houses?

So why don't you, and a bunch of other angry looking parents, descend on the playpark and tell the ASBO kids to !!!!!! off. And do this everytime you want your kids to play out. eventually they'll get the message that they're not welcomed there when your kids are playing. Doubtless they'll come back afterwards ... but so what?

I should think so it is January! I should hope your kids aren't out in this weather. Anyway, why are you so vexed by these issues at this time of the year?
