Number 1 looks best in my opinion however they mention it has a Bluetooth stereo and speakers on the back shelf... Will that make the insurance higher? Does it count as modification? Cos I assume I could just take them out and sell them if so!Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. Bluetooth stereo won't, speakers on the back shelf ??? (If they are visible then they are something you'd consider taking out as you don't want someone smashing the windows to steal them)
You obviously need to find the RIGHT car at the time you are ready to buy but I have personally sold a car in that price range that I believe would have quite a few years left on it.... (3 door GTI sold after baby was born to buy a diesel estate)0 -

I can't afford to spend more without getting finance and since my first post I've since realised I will be thousands of pounds better off buying a cheaper car out right even if I end up having to repair it on occasion. The money I'd pay for finance I'm going to put into a savings account for such occasion. And if I don't need it I have a lump sum!
I just want to get the best I can for the price. Sway the odds in my favour
fair enough, I see your point there, if its just for a year/two years and you just want a cheap runabout to scrap at the end of this time then fair enough.
Something not too high miled, but at the same time not one that is too low miled either (as it couldve been clocked), as always get a proper test drive and if buying privately try and buy from someone who atleast seems half decent and you can trust...0 -
Non standard stereo might. One insurer which may have been my current one actually asked if the stereo was standard.
One insurer even asked if the car had any factory fitted options.
So you need to declare EVERYTHING. If in doubt then ask them. If you dont you may find yourself uninsured.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Hmm, I think the best thing to do is wait til I'm about to buy and double check on here to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.
Thanks for the help guys
