The consistent advice on this forum from the more experienced posters is not to involve the CAA. If people nevertheless do this and hobble their prospects of a successful claim, then that is a decision for them.
Which adds more weight, if it should be needed, to the advice to read the FAQs and threads!0 -
Hi All
Sent the 'official' virgin claims forms to the Dunstable address 2 weeks ago. Obv heard nothing so far.
It was the same flight as ladylean, the one with pilot sickness.
Before I send the NBA I'm thinking of sending the forms again to the Crawley address with a letter stating that if nothing is heard within a week I will send NBA which will state I will claim for interest/costs etc and it would be prudent for them to comply.
I know they will likely ignore and whilst i'm happy to take them to court I (like I suspect all) would far prefer waiting a further week to try and avoid it.0 -

Sounds like you know the score so I'd just get the NBA sent and then to court.0 -

Was planning to send an NBA early next week, with another set of the official claims in case they didn't get the first ones.
Mon or Tues next week would have been 14 business days, depending on how quick it got there.
In the post today the mrs got a letter from virgin with a cheque for £495:j
hopefully the 3 other people in the party also have cheques in the post!!!0 -
We flew back with Virgin from Antigua to Gatwick in January 2013... We were delayed for over 24 hours...
They (the CAA) therefore conclude that we are ineligible for compensation, and advise that, whilst we could pursue it through the County Claims Court, our chances of success would be low.
What a disgrace, that the CAA now offer a legal opinion on the likely court outcome.
Surely there's a way to bring them to book? They are effectively acting illegally.0 -

Still not had the cheque for my son!!
Does anyone know the best email address to contact Virgin on?
I want to check they sent one for him0 -
Sorry if this has already been covered, but we have a really interesting one involving a flight from a few years ago.
Both on same flight.
A friend sent in his compensation for in January and received a cheque for £256 in early February.
So I got off my backside and sent my form in straight away.
Virgin have rejected MY claim due to "extraordinary circumstances".
How can they pay one of us and not the other?0
