Just wanting some advice. We were delayed back in 2007 for over 6 hours on a flight from MAN to MCO due to a technical fault with the windscreen. We submitted a claim to virgin and the first response back stated we were out of time!! (after they had taken nearly 3 months to reply). I got back in touch with them and asked for the claim to be looked at again and this time they have said the claim is refused to due extraordinary circumstances. Do you think it is worthwhile pursuing Virgin? Can they change the reason for refusal? Can we take it to small claims as the original claim was within 6 years? Any help appreciated.

Out of time - court (claim) case has to be within 6 years.0 -
Hi
Everyone seems to know why their flight was delayed but we don't actually know. I was wondering if there is somewhere I can look up this information as it asks on the claim form?0 -

Im so glad I decided to check my previous flights.
Im claiming for 3 flights now since 2010.
VS43 on 23/10/2012 4 passengers
VS43 0n 11/5/2010 2 passengers
VS44 on 18/5/2010 2 passengers
If anyone was on either of these flights feel free to get in touch
Both 2010 flights ended up being an EC due to the volcanic ash clouds at the time. I had completely forgotten about that. here's hoping the 2012 flight will come good0 -

The reason for the delay to your rteurn flight may well be that the previous flight to LAS was restricted in terms of airspace so that could be arguable by the airline. The 11/5 flight should be compensable.
I had put the claims in the hands of EuDelay and that's what they told me..
Ill dig some more and see if I can come up with anything for the 11/5 flight.
Thanks Centipede0 -

Myself, my husband and 2 sons were delayed 23hrs 48mins on our flight from MCO to Man in Dec 2008. I tried for compensation at the time, but was continually knocked back.
I was inspired by reading this thread to fill out an EU claim form for each of us & post it off to Virgin. I sent these on 14th January, expecting to dig in for a fight.
Today, I have received 4 cheques for £495.15 each in settlement of our claim. Thanks to everyone on here for giving me the conviction to pursue this.0
