Depends how long you want to keep playing letter pong. EJ are masters at what would seem to be incompetance but is actually efforts at deliberately f£$&ing you around.
I'd be inclined to tell them again that they have alrady declined. Send copy of said statement?
How long is it since EJ sent the refusal? If its more than 8 weeks, you don't need a deeaadlock letter any way.

its only been a week since they declined the compensation claim, will send reply back stating we have already been refused and want a deadlock letter , so does she need a deadlock letter before 8 weeks is up, after 8 weeks we can take it to CEDR, Seems mixed

    thanks

    Hi! I had a 3hrs 4 minutes delayed flight from 2016.

I tried to claim near that time diectly with easyjet but they declined. I put my details in to Bott & Co website to see if it was worth pursing further (at that time, it was not my intention to pursu this via Bott and Co but I wanted to see if they thought I had a case). In the end, life got the better of me and I never got anything done (new kids, new job, etc). I recieved a reminder email fromm Bott & Co and decided to let them take the case.

We've got comepensation now, but I wondered if it was worth a secondary claim against EasyJet for the Fees that Bott & co charge? As mentioned; i did try claiming; they rejected; and when I got a solicitor involved they changed their mind. Seems very bad form.

Regardless; I'm happy with the outcome so far; it just seems a bit unfair that they can reject a claim that turns out was apparently valid!

    Hi James,
    Alas, no.
It is unfair as you point out and poor form on EJ's part.
Unfortunately airlines take a very negative attitude to reg 261/2004 to the point they do everything they caan to avoid complying with the law.

Complaint to the CAA but it won't benefit you in any way.

  • Easyjet are a PITA I have Bott and co soring mine out after they declined within an hour they now had court papers served to them and no trying the "you have to prove that you were on the flight" scenerio. As if they dont have a passenger manifest for their flights. Not helped by the fact that the boarding passes disappear from the app once flown

so sent a reply back stating we had already been declined and wanted deadlock

they came back with this response

    Thank you for contacting us.

I've checked the booking, There was an error with the automated system due to which your EU Compensation claim was declined incorrectly.

Hence, the previous advisor asked you to fill in the claim form again so that our Compensation team can validate the claim manually.

so filled it again , awaits response

Right they got back to her and her claim has been approved we will process a payment of GBP 231.62

Now she was not the person who made the booking so the others claims were declined , but they can re-submit it again with the person who booked it or do individual claims-

waiting for the expenses claim now
