If she has been turned down you need a deadlock letter, the Airlines know what to put you don't have to tell them.

right have sent an email asking for deadlock, gave them 14 days to reply.

as regards Expenses claim - have resubmitted it hopefully with nothing missing-

only issue they mention they need names on the tickets, now the train from London- to Birmingham was just a standard ticket from automated ticket booth as no receipt came with the tickets..

see below will they decline this oh cant post image
  • Hello all,

I would really appreciate a little guidance.... My party of 10 had our flight from Bristol to Marseille cancelled on Sunday 27th July, due to lack of a pilot! We were then given seats to Lyon last Monday. Easyjet told us to keep receipts for extra travel costs etc, which I will claim along with the 250 Euros (hopefully) in due course.

My question however is about holiday compensation. The Villa cost £2800 for 7 days - yet we only had 5. Can I claim the 2 days costs (£800) from Easyjet / Travel Insurance or is it tough luck??

    Many thanks in advance

    Hi mikeyg40,

You cannot claim consequential losses/costs via the eu261 flight delay regulations. You can use EU261 for claiming compensation and and cost directly incurred by the delay e.g meals, hotel, soft drink and transport to/from the airport.

I understand that you could claim other cost incurred as a result of the delay by using MCOL, however, I'm no expert in that field so please check first.

    Good luck.
Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.
  • Many thanks Tyzap.

What time was your flight cancelled and what time did your flight on Monday take off?. Did Easyjet notify you of your right to be re-routed?

Following on from the last comment, would it have been possible for you to have got from Bristol to Marseille on the Sunday via another airline? If so, and you were not offered rerouting, I would pursue EJ for a days lost holiday but, as Tyzap has said, this would be doubtful under the regulations and would have to be in the County Court.
  • Thank you Legal Magpie, Justice.

We left Bristol at lunchtime Monday, some 45 hours late.

Easyjet did indeed look at alternatives from other Airports - and were as helpful as was possible but given that we were a party of 10, the Lyon flight seemed the only realistic alternative.

Whether alternative carriers were looked at I don't know.
