Thanks a million Tyzap.
I'm going to write a small paragraph asking for more information and paraphrasing some of your text. I'll leave the case law etc out for the time being.
I'm sure this will take a while longer yet and I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again!0 -
We put in a claim with CEDR for unpaid expenses. We intended to do a Small claims court claim for the 250 euro compensation once the CEDR claim had been settled.
Easyjet responded to the CEDR claim today with the following -
Company has completed Respond - Event: Please note that the airline made a settlement offer to the other side for GBP 110.65, with the following terms: "1. This is paid in full and final settlement of all matters concerning the booking and flight 2. The payment will only be made directly to the Passenger. No third party will be paid. To accept the offer please email CEDR@easyjet.com quoting your CEDR number in the subject line. In the body of the email please provide your account details to which the payment should be made: SORT CODE: A/C N
I accepted this on the CEDR website.
Having thought about it a bit, will term 1 "This is paid in full and final settlement of all matters concerning the booking and flight" now stop us from making the Small claim court claim?
Thanks in advance0 -

Hi Matt_66,
Yes it probably would, best contact CEDR and check with them.
Did you not also claim the compensation via CEDR at the same time?
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Why did you not put your Euro250 claim in to CEDR at the same time?
I think you may have stumped yourself there. I'd contact CEDR and withraw your agreement that it is in full and final settlement asap.
Tyzap beat me to it...If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Easyjet turned down the expenses claim while they were still deliberating the compensation claim.
To keep the ball moving I submitted the CEDR claim for the expenses. In between then and Easyjet turning down the compensation claim I read the Vaubians guide that suggested bypassing CEDR and going straight to the small claim court.
I decided to let the CEDR claim run it's course before starting the Small Claim court route for the compensation so that I could put the expenses in with that claim too in the event that CEDR found in Easyjet's favour.0 -
Definitely contact CEDR asap. You can remove the condition they apply in terms of full and final settlement. They may then not pay you but thats all grist to the mill when you continue with your 250 claim. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

I have contacted CEDR through their resolution centre. As they have not responded to any of the messages I have sent thus far regarding the claim I will not hold my breath.
Thank you for your help!0 -
Case of Henderson says that you should make all your claims arising out of a single event at the same time.0

Passenger A eg wife could make a claim. There is no requirement of Passeneger B, who maybe related, or not to make a joint, simultaneous claim? If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
