Bumping to make sure I am making the right decision in just going with Bott?? Can anyone advise the kind of fees they charge. Is this the best route available to sort this out? Thanks to all who post comps :A :T0

I've just (today) received compensation via Bott&co for a 3.5 hour delay flying into Geneva in June.
They received 250 Euros which translated into £216
They took £65, we got £151 each.
I'm happy - was too lazy to do the paperwork myself. Took quite a while - they did actually have to start legal action against Easyjet before they would pay.0 -
Wow! thats certainly taken a while & proportionately the fee seems quite large, but I understand about not wanting to do the paperwork yourself. I'll have a chat with my daughter & see what she thinks.
Could you (or someone else) tell me how I can check the reason for delay? I've had a look at Flightstats but whilst it says the flight was cancelled theres not much else to go on. I can, however, see that the inward flight was severely delayed. Could it have been this flight that was disrupted by ATC restrictions? is there a way to find out? Thanks to all who post comps :A :T0 -
Can't help you there - I had a text from Easyjet saying my flight was delayed due to staff shortage, so they pretty much condemned themselves!
I think you can just type your flight details into the Bott&co website and they'll give you an answer without having to commit yourselves to anything.0 -
Before going down the solicitor route download and read Vaubans guide. Then issue a Letter before action the template is in the guide and send it off. You might get the result you want. If they say no you can still hand it over to Bott & co or Euclaim. You won't get the reason for the delay until court proceedings are issued0

I'll take a look at Vauban's guide, Thanks. Quick further question though, an Easyjet claim that the delay to the plane coming in (62m) was exceptional and use that as an excuse, or is it only the flight she was booked on? I know that the delay on the incoming flight meant her flight missed its scheduled slot & put the crew over time. Thanks to all who post comps :A :T0

It's irrelevant as it was an incoming flight. This is known as a knock on and compensation is due. You have all your answers crack on and read the guide and get the Letter Before Action sent or you will start doubting yourself.0

Thanks Justice, you're right. Time to take actionThanks to all who post comps :A :T0

I'm stunned, and can hardly believe it.
I submitted a claim to Easyjet for 517.61 Euros, no more than a week ago.
A cheque for £460.58 arrived this morning.
A perfect return !!!
Chapeau / Hats Off to Easyjet
I couldn't have asked for a better service,...... well apart from the plane turning up in the first place. :-)0 -
I had a flight cancelled on Monday last week and EasyJet have termed the reason 'extraordinary' before I take it further I just wanted to check whether this is the case.
The plane I was taking (MAN to BSL) was scheduled earlier in the day to land in Malta, it was diverted to to Catania due to a fire in Malta. From there it went back to MAN then to Amsterdam and back to MAN to pick me up for Basel. Because of the diversion the plane was 3 hours late, which meant it wouldn;t get into Basel until 00.15 - Basel airport closes at 00.00, so after getting us all on the plane Easjet promptly cancelled the flight.
The initial reponse I got from Easyjet is:
Having looked at the details of your flight EZY1811, I can confirm that the reason for your disruption was due to ARP System or Runway Closure or Curfew.
This event is classified as ""extraordinary"" under EC Regulation 261/2004 because it was outside of our control. This means that in this instance there is no compensation payable.
IMO the cancellation of my flight was due to a scheduled closure of an airport, so not extraordinary - do people agree, before I take it further?0
