    Hello guys,

    1) My family member by a single ticket to fly easy jet from Berlin to London. The plane was schedule to depart at 21.25 but end up departing over 3 hours later.

    2) We bought a single travel insurance(1 Stop travel insurance) for the journey.

    My questions is as follows;

    a) Can i make a claim from both or just choose one?

    b) Where could i sent the claim form to? Or can i do that via easyjet website?

    c) Which website can i use to check the actual arrival time?

    Thanks

    Hi Kay,

You could try travel insurance but normally that doesn't cover you for a short delay, check the t & c's.

Your real friend will be EC261/2004 and all your other questions will be answered in Vaubans guide.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

i have a quick question i hope you can help with.
My flight from Palma (Mallorca) to Belfast on 9th April was cancelled by easyjet because of the French strike.
A Jet2 flight from Mallorca to Belfast on the 9th departed with a delay (actual departure time was 1 hour after Easyjets scheduled departure) but it did travel so i can see how the delay to this flight wouldn't be covered. but does the fact that it was possible to fly between the 2 airports not mean that easyjet could be liable due to their decision to cancel without trying to fly? or am i just clutching at straws?

Well just when I thought all was lost a miracle has happened! I've been pursuing a claim with Easyjet for what feels like forever! Initially was turned down 3yrs ago but decided to try again in November. Expiry date on claim was 25 May 2015. Sent many emails to Easyjet and finally last week someone actually took ownership of the claim and today I received THE call. Compensation due!! YAY. Thanks to you all for your assistance in bringing this matter to an end. Large Chardonnay for me tonight! x

I thought someone with more knowledge than me might have posted a reply to your apparent success. Have you issued court proceedings yet if not my advice would be if you don't receive the money by around the 20th May you will need to issue court proceedings. If they can get passed 25th May I doubt they will pay you as the 6 year limit will have passed
  • Just to report I've had success today claiming for a flight from early March. The departure from Edinburgh was delayed 4hrs due to a technical fault with the plane. A new plane had to be flown in from elsewhere. We finally landed at Luton close to midnight.

I'd heard the horror stories on here so began emailing Easyjet during the second half of March. Received generic replies including a short 'oh well nevermind?' (!)

Finally got around to submitting Martin's template letter in April, sent Royal Mail Signed For, stating that I expected a reply within 14 working days. I included photocopies of my boarding card and food receipts.

Towards the middle of the third week I sent an email reminder, including my RM completed tracking reference. To my surprise I received an immediate reply asking for the booking ref (this was in the letter but nevermind).

Within a matter of days I'd been asked for the last four digits of the card I used to book and today I have confirmation that the money is being refunded (all by email).

It helped that the cause was straightforward but I wanted to report that persistence paid off on this occasion. I didn't need to make a single phonecall either.

Was this a recent flight Liver-bird? I've had a claim rejected for a delay of 304 mins at Bristol on 30/03/15 which we were told by staff at the airport and by the crew once on board that the delay was due to a fault with the plane which couldn't be fixed so had to bring another plane down from Scotland and a replacement crew from Luton. The reason I got from Easyjet for the claim rejection was "Extraordinary due to air traffic restrictions". I have asked them to expand on this which according to the CAA I am entitled to but despite chasing EJ are not replying. Think I may have to resort to no win no fee people to get this resolved for me.
No it was ages ago - 20/10/10. I wouldn't have even claimed but when I saw it mentioned in the MSE newsletter a while ago that you could, I thought I might as well. Didn't really think it would work to be honest. Fully expected them to say no.
Not had the cheque yet but she did say it could take a few weeks (20-30 days - that was May 1st). But if It doesn't come I will get back to them!

I am not sure how yours in to do with air traffic restrictions based on what you said. Did you check on http://www.flightstats.co.uk/home.do to see if a reason was given on there? I enclosed a copy of the delay as proof although the reason just said Unknown.

    Good luck!

Can't find specifics on this but how long after bad weather has cleared can an airline reasonably wait to reschedule. Madeira flight was delayed 27 hours. Scheduled for 18:55 departure but inbound couldn't land and went back to Edinburgh. Same for 2 flights from Manchester and Gatwick. Difference was that the other 2 were rescheduled to fly back to Madeira first thing in the morning departing back around 11AM from Funchal. But the Edinburgh flight wasn't rescheduled until 21:30. The rescheduling of the Edinburgh flight 10 hours later than the other 2 is to me an operational decision since they were happy the weather was OK in the morning.

Any precedents on this with Easyjet or other airlines? The rescheduled flight was less than an hour late, but the decision to reschedule so late caused overall a hugh delay.

Hi All, I am just wondering if anyone can advise me. Me and my Husband were due to fly from Rome to Luton on Sunday 10th May, the flight was cancelled because an airport fire - the fire was on Thursday 7th and we flew out fine on the Friday 8th. Easyjet have refunded the flight and are processing the hotel bill and tranfer. I just want to establish if we are eligible for compensation - and if this is 'extraordinary circumstance' - easyjet were still flying the same time our flight was due to leave to other locations, such as Gatwick and many other airlines were flying in and out. I understand the Fire was and 'extraordinary' circumstance but don't quite get how its ok for them to fly to Gatwick but not Luton? ANy advise greatly appreciated.
