  • Good morning all

My Court date is set for October 30, and I have Jet2's defence, which contains all the usual ingredients. In particular, they refer to the failure of a hydraulic unit as 'extraordinary' - so if anyone knows anything about/ has had experience of an hydraulic failure now would be a good time to mention it.

    Many thanks

Major hydraulic failure on 'my' Airbus - took Monarch to Court on the basis that a hydraulic failure is a technical problem and technical problems with planes are an ordinary everyday occurrence and judge agreed with me - so there I have mentioned it!
  • I have had my claim rejected from Jet2 after a flight from Majorca to Glasgow was diverted for a warning light back to Jet2's base airport but it took 4 hours on the runway and a failed take off before finally sorting it. The pilot told us he wasn't able to fly the plane at the appropriate altitude and had to expend more fuel than planned for so had to divert.

Jet2 say safety reasons - no claim. Should I pursue via CAA ????

I think a "hydraulic" search in this forum will probably throw up many, many threads, so inherent me thinks.
Hydraulic systems leak, period. Some more than others. Can't really say more than that.

Just a quick update on my case:-

Latest received from the Court today,

The Defendants solicitors shall file draft case management directions for the Courts approval, incorporating a time estimate (preferably agreed with the other party).

Not sure exactly what that order means, but googled it and it appears the judge wants Jet2 to draft their own timetable and evidance to support their deffence?

Obviously any clarification from anybody more legally minded would be appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    NoviceAngel
