DO NOT BACK DOWN !
The point of the post is just to inform all, that against Jet2 (IMO) it to be a larger and more protracted battle than against other airlines at the moment.
If you do decided to pursue on your own, the evidence suggests you will have a battle in which you would have to be prepared to end up in court.
How many Jet2 claims, from folk on this website, have proceeded to court? I am only aware of one. This does not seem a great sample from which to make your bold assertions.
Other airlines have employed barristers and witnesses and such like. So why is Jet2 any different? You may say that they have never settled a case out of court. But isn't there only one case that's got that far?
Looking at the proportion of claimants writing about Monarch, Thomson and Thomas Cook, it suggests that there are relatively fewer claimants for Jet2. So I'm not sure where your "mass of numbers" are going to come from either.0 -
there are 5 different sets of people waiting for me to go to court who were all on my flight .
So we are pioneers of the cause after the October 2012 judgement.
I think given the fact that with Jet2 a delay is inherent never mind a technical problem then I do think the flood gates will open.
Hopefully once the judges get to grips with it, it will make it easier to get the right judgement.
And also more importantly that Jet 2 will realise that having corporate solicitors spouting off in front of the judge doesnt alter the facts of the cases.
We all have reservations about what will happen on the day but weve started so we will finish.
other airlines have failed in court with the same circumstances so it stands to reason that we will have our days too.:)0 -

I sent in a 6 page defence with numerous points to prove and attachments of evidence .I asked an awful lot of questions to be answered before the hearing.
So I think the judge realised that this wouldnt be covered in an hour.
The ones that have gone to court have overran from what I can recall or read.
If you are in doubt and intend to submit chapter and verse and know that bird wiill be presenting a lengthy boring unconnected pile of legal jargon nothing to do with the case then perhaps have a word with the court.
The solicitor I spoke to seemed to think it was good that the judge realised it was a lot of evidence that needed hearing.
He said that if the judges in small claims read all the evidence prior to hearing that a lot of cases would be settled with a judgement prior to turning up at court. However they dont read anything in depth until the day.0 -
Hi
Are we allowed to post Flight Numbers/Dates on this board.
There seems to be lots of PMs going on.
Can we be open and perhaps share resources?
I posted mine earlier LS257 21 Sept 2011. Also return LS258 denied boarding delay.0 -

I am quite willing to PM my details but Jet2 or their solicitors are probably reading this thread and I don't want to give them any clues. Or am I just paranoid?0 -

Nope, You are not paranoid, I would put my house on it that Jet2, 2Birds, Monarch etc. are reading these boards.
(You're only paranoid if they ain't out to get ya !)
When I spoke to the guy at Bott & Co, he seemed well aware of the existance of these forums.
I have posted my flight number one here in the past, they know my details and who is taking them to court, they know full well who I am, my posting id etc.
A little cross-referencing and it shouldn't be too hard to know who i am.
If I were Jet 2, i'd do the cross-referencing, study my comments and think "Hang on a minute.... we've really upset this guy and he ain't just gunna go away, let's make this guy an offer".
They would not be able to contact me about the issue now as it is in the hands of those fine, witty, super-sharp, upstanding, honest, Godly, super-human, handsome young men (and ladies) of Bott & Co.0 -
Visiting solicitor today to commence court proceedings against Jet2.
Come on people, if you have a genuine case, get it to small claims court! Jet 2 have got away with it for far too long!0 -
I decided to go down this route & sent all my docs off to B*TT & Co, (3 letters from Jet 2 & my replies etc) and they are telling me they cannot proceed without my original boarding cards & email confirmation. I had all flight information & Jet2 were happy (!) that what I had proved I was on the flight (still in my flight history as I WAS a regular flier with them) so what to do now, any advice? Don't have boarding cards or original flight confirmation as it happened 2010.0
