Interesting aside; I checked out the aircraft used for the original flight with the faulty door. G-LSAE is a 31 year-old plane! .....

I’ve always submitted claims to their Low Fare finder address but recently they have been using a PO Box at Leeds 11 !
I’ll just switched my old pc on to get the address details I used ...
Here’s what I’ve got
Customer Operations Team
Jet2.com Limited
Customer Services
Low Fare Finder House
Leeds Bradford International Airport
Leeds
LS19 7TU
And the now new address is as:-
Customer Operations Team
Jet2.com
Customer Services
PO Box 284
Leeds
LS11 1GE
I bet all correspondence to whatever address goes to the the same place anyway. But there might be a sneaky legal way that they are now trying to use a PO Box address, send it to Low fair finder. It’s the official address of Jet2.com
Well, they've instructed us to write to the EC 261/2004 Team, Legal Services at the second address.
Interesting that they have an entire department named after an EU regulation that they fail to notify their passengers about!0 -
Yes, god only knows how much they spend on defending every claim and dragging everyone to court.
They did settle with me, but on receiving my ‘bundle’, which I filed with the court and served a copy on them on the deadline.
They were supposed to serve a copy of their bundle on me in the same day. I never saw it...0 -

Yes Reg Hedge we were the couple amongst others who decided not to fly to Glasgow and then took the EasyJet flight direct to Manchester. We did not therefore receive the pre boarding form you received. The only letter we saw was the one at 1615 which you repeated in this thread, setting out Jet2 view of the options available.
As a first timer to being left stranded like this with a nervous flyer as my companion and with a plane with multiple faults some not fully disclosed, the first thing on your mind is safety and getting home. It’s been really instructive to read the contributions from everybody contributing to this thread.
We’ve messaged Jet2 for at least a refund of my return journey. Depending on their response it’ll be a matter then of seeking compensation so that we’re no worse off than those who stayed with the flight. In view of the fact we volunteered to help Jet2 out, I would expect to be treated more generously that the legal requirement.
This thread and all your contributions help considerably in developing a way forward.
Apologies for being a clumsy novice in these matters, but I’m well over 70 and still learning!
We weren’t aware that some were compulsorily bumped off the flight; we assumed that this plan had failed and in our rear cabin, the next intervention was the seeking of volunteers.0 -

Thanks for your take on all what happened to you on this flight - but generosity just doesn’t reciprocate with J2 I’m afraid. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!
