After some advice please, I filed a claim to Jet2 on Sept 2014 using the template on. I received a response letter from customer care on the 30th of Sept acknowledging receipt of the correspondence stating that they would be dealing with the claim in strict date order.
That was the last correspondence I received and was wondering whether I should now follow up with another letter or sit tight and wait.
I appreciate any help you may be able to give me with this issue.
Thanks
Brett
Just write back and say that unless they pay up you will starts small claims court proceedings. It does seem that jet2 have been paying up recently people who have claims younger than 2 years.0 -
I first wrote to Jet2 in February 2013 following a delayed flight in August 2012.
If, as they keep saying, they are dealing with correspondence in strict date order (i.e. the older claims go into one bin, newer ones into another), then you will need to join a long queue or start legal action if they don't pay up within a reasonable period of time.0 -

One thing to note is that j2 are using the two-year time limit defence for claims over two years old. If you start court proceedings you will have to argue this point in court. It's a fairly straight forward argument but it is going to be dealt with on appeal and possibly at higher courts over the next few months, and if j2 lose as everyone thinks they will, once it is out of the way, you will be able to bring your claim pretty much unhindered. It does depend what the cause was though, in a few cases they can claim extraordinary circumstances.0 -
Greetings All
Before I went on holiday (not with Jet2, oddly enough), the Judge at Harrogate had sent a letter to me and to Jet2 asking if it was OK if she made a judgement or did we want another hearing? We had to reply within 7 days. I replied saying there were no new facts and I was sure the Learned Judge had read the Huzar and Allen cases.
I was sure she would then decide whilst I was away but I returned to find.... nowt! I telephoned the nice people at the Court who rummaged around and found that Jet2 had not said anything at all (nor had 2birds, which is odd) but the Judge had not made a judgement. They sounded a bit embarrassed and promised to slide the papers across her desk.
I think their strategy may be to wait for me to peg out!

Dr A: it seems clear to me that Jet2 have given up the ghost. Unfortunately it appears that the Judge has too!0

This long drawn out case with Dr A, is simply beyond a joke, why 2Birds haven't just sorted this one is beyond me, looks like it's down to the Courts, and we know how useless they can be.
I really hope they give you interest at 8% and use the Euro conversion at the time of the flight. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Oddly enough I calculated this for them...

Well, you never know. Reformed burglars are usually good people to advise on household security. Assuming that they are genuinely reformed, of course0
