Hi Centipede, thanks for your quick reply. Have had a look for a NBA template and clicked through your link on the FAQ section. Is this a NBA letter and do I need to label it as such?
Am I also right in thinking the delay has to have been in the landing time, rather than the take-off time? Wish I could find this out for definite as it may all hinge on that.
I think I will prepare a letter but hold off on sending it until willhollis18 updates their status to give me an idea if its going to be worth spending money on...0 -
So I have my Allocation questionaire. Any tips on how to complete?

Has anyone yet received a letter, after requesting more info on the flight safety shortcoming?Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0

It is quite clear reading thru the posts of fellow Jet2 claimants, that they have a stock set of letters to prolong procrastination. What galls me is they then have the temerity to accuse me of being unreasonable by actioning proceedings, 2 months after 1st letter and 1 month after final NBA!! Unbelievable.
Anybody know of a website listing Jet2 aircraft inventory circa Feb 2011?If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Thanks, wondering if it is worth firing off another letter before the NBA one to ask them what info it is that I haven't provided and to state that the booking reference is adequate. I suppose trying to force them into stating the arrival delay and circumstances so that I can make a judgement on whether to proceed legally or not?0 -
So the Jet2 defence came through the post today.
They claim the flight wasn't cancelled but was delayed. In fact the flight operated under a different flight number which I believed to conclusively mean the flight was cancelled? Although I am not sure how this error on their behalf would help my case.
The outbound flight scheduled to operate to Paphos, for which I was scheduled to return on was delayed due to a hydraulic fault with the rudder. This resulted in the flight leaving 4h35m behind schedule and thus the crew were out of hours upon arrival in Paphos. The defence notes that the crew had reserve hours built in but ultimately they were insufficient.
They defined the original issue as being a random failure which has never been experienced before on this aircraft.
I am now faced with completing the questionnaire which looks fairly straightforward. Is there any particular advice for the 'further information' section?0 -
For long sectors such as those to Paphos and Sharm El Sheikh they need better crew standby systems to avoid crew out of hours problems for the inbound sectors.
The outbound sector should not be operated by a crew that is knowingly going to go out of hours.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

Of course the downside is that it would put operating expenses (hotel and subsidence costs, additional crew wages as they would need to recruit additional staff) up so affect fares. A commercial decision to weigh up the balance between cost/compensation/losing business to other airlines on cost! The outbound sector should not be operated by a crew that is knowingly going to go out of hours.
In some respects every crew will be out of hours on every day, the airlines schedule them to try to get the maximum flying hours they can in a day/week/year up to the legal maximums0 -

Thanks a lot for the input. Yes just the allocation questionnaire so I will just fill out the basic details and won't add any 'other information' as hopefully its a straightforward allocation.0
