What seems even stranger is that her representative was one Jakub Kotan who is the MD of eudelay.co.uk a NWNF company!

    Oops!
They won't be getting any recommendations from me!

  • How does this stay by the judge until February affect our compensation payouts?

Depends on your claim, who, why, where, and when?

  • Hi all wondered if anyone can give me any help on what i need to do.

Holiday flight from Malaga to Leeds in 2013 scheduled from Malaga at 9.20pm to arrive at 11.35pm. The flight actually left at 12.43am and arrived at 2.20am which is 2 hours and 45 mins delay. I tried to claim when we came back in 2013 and they said that the technical fault regarding the toilets didnt cover the compensation rules. With the new regulations i am trying again. Do i: -

    a) Complete the online form (like i did previously)
    b) Complete the martin lewis template letters and send to them

The flight was delayed more than 3 hours leaving but they caught a bit of time up flying back so delayed in total just under 3 hours - would i still be able to claim for this?

    Thank you for your help.

I think you know you're own answer really, No anyway in case you haven't worked it out. You wasn't delayed over 3 hours.
However, you was delayed over 2 hours and therefore any receipts for food you have could be submitted. This doesn't rely on EC's as a reason.
  • My wife and I travelled from Bournemouth with Ryanair on flight No 4771 bound for Carcassonne on 22nd April 2013.
We suffered a delay of more than 6 hours and eventually landed at Perpignan, not our intended destination!
I wrote to Ryanair claiming compensation but was unsuccessful, as they claimed the delay was due to an unexpected safety/technical problem with the aircraft. At the time the rumour was that it may have been a problem with one of the doors but who knows.
Having read the recent reports on claiming compensation from airlines, I wondered whether there is any likelihood of making a successful claim now, or whether their reason for my lack of success would hold up if challenged.
I also had to pay additional car hire charges due to landing at a different airport but were told that Ryanair has no liability for these costs as once a passenger arrives at their destination airport they have no further liability.
In this case they offered to bus us to Carcassonne very late in the evening and if we had travelled, the car hire collection would not have been possible until the next morning as it had closed at Carcassonne airport and we would have been stuck at the airport for a long time.
Any advice would be appreciated as to whether we have any basis for trying to make a claim again on an official form or whether we are wasting our time.
  • Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but being new ...

Having been delayed on a Ryanair flight for 7+ hrs in October I was so irritated by their attitude I decided to seek compensation. After a false start in initiating a claim through a "No Win/No Fee" Solicitors (now withdrawn) I am now aiming to start proceedings through the ESCP. Having seen the advice given by Dr Watson that not all UK Courts are aware of this process and that you should choose a Court that has some experience of this procedure it would be helpful if anyone could comment on whether the following Courts have that experience:

Hull (Combined Courts), Leeds or Sheffield.

Any other help or advice would be most welcome.

    Pat,
Sheffield Combined Court Centre dealt with my claim, and have dealt with others that I have advised.
