which apparently was cancelled due to bad weather although everyone was confused about this as there was no visible bad weather!
And the weather at the destination, or the alternate airports in case the destination airport was closed, could you see that? Just had to ask0 -
Hi all,
I have received 4 pages long response from Ryanair with their crap story how the 6 hour delay wasn't their fault. They are blaming the bad weather in Stockholm.
There is a lot of nonsense in there that I cant fully understand if anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated.0 -
Hi - have received the standard EC fob off from Ryanair in connection with a flight from Rome to UK delayed by around 6 hours last year. I asked them to provide details of the EC but they declined saying simply that their engineer reports are confidential.
CAA say that they cannot be compelled to provide such information but suggested that I contact the Italian CAA equivalent to see if they are able to provide any details/compel Ryanair to provide details?
Is this worth doing - does anyone have experience of the Italian authorities? I'm not wild about the idea of proceeding to a court claim without any basic understanding of what RA's defence is/will be.
Thanks0 -

You will find, most likely, that Ryanair will ignore any request from the Italian authorities - assuming they take it up on your behalf. As a technical defect is rarely to be regarded in law as an extraordinary circumstance, the detail of the technical problem is not cardinal to your claim.0 -
Thanks Vauban. Confusingly RA have not even said that the EC was a technical problem. That was the bit that has be concerned. But when I asked for details of the EC they said engineers reports are confidential suggesting that the EC is a technical problem - I just do not want to be blindsided by finding out that it is not a tech prblem after all.
I have plenty of time on this so I may try the Italians - a few weeks delay while I give them a try will not hurt.0 -

Even if RA have not said that the EC was a technical problem, their reference to 'engineers reports' indicates initially that it was.
By all means give the Italian authorities a try... but you could be waiting a while and, should the Italians find in your favour (even with a decision given on evidence from RA) RA will still refuse to compensate you.
My post 622 is where you need to go next.
When RA respond to court papers, come back on here and help will be given in destroying their response....
Same Old Ryanair..Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.
Current known score:-
Dr Watson 35 - 0 Ryanair / Ince and Co
Go to post 622 on the Ryanair thread to read how to sue them safely.0 -
I have received notification from the CAA that they have found in my favour regarding denied boarding as EC Reg 261/2004. Has anyone got any advice as to how to proceed with a European Small Claim, any help would be appreciated.0

I have today spoke with a gentlemen called Wojtek who works for the European Consumer Centre Tele 0845 604 0503. He told me that if you have a successful judgement against Ryanair it can be issued free of charge through their office in Dublin.0

His advice is questionable to say the least. Take the advice I gave in my last post or don't bother pursuing your claim!
Listen to the 'pede: Dr. Watson's method is the tried and tested one to use.0 -
Centipede probably did not phrase it right. What he said was if Ryanair refuse to pay out when the court has found in your favour instead of employing someone to chase them his organisation will do it for free through it's Dublin office. It is an official office funded by the EU.0
