Of course, its time the CAA and other European aviation authorities took the airlines to task about their obligations in trespect of EC261/2004.But they never have in the 11 years I've been aware/involved with the regulations. They just ignore passengers' complaints and turn a blind eye to the lawbreaking of the airlines.Shame on you CAA.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Hello I have an update.
I responded to Ryanair advising we were left stranded in a rural airport at night with no guidance or assistance. We attempted to call their UK number but for some reason the operator language was in the country we were in which we didn’t speak so had to hang up (I have this time stamped in my phone record bill). I also advised I went on the app hoping they would show me rebooking options and I could click one but because they cancelled less than an hour before boarding everything was greyed out and I couldn’t click anything regarding rebooking. I also attempted to use live chat but couldn’t connect. I quoted the above legislation. They have responded to say the sympathise but their position remains unaltered because we did not give them the chance to re-route us to a different flight, so they are in no position to reimburse the expenses incurred during the disruption. They then say they note that we are not entitled to alternative transport expenses. They conclude by saying if we are not satisfied with the outcome of our complaint, we may be able to refer our complaint to AviationADR (previously known as The Retail Ombudsman).
So I guess I now have to make a small claims court application?0 -
You can refer your complaint to the ADR as they have stated.
You also have option of going to court, but ADR will likely be a better way to deal with things first as it won't cost you anything.💙💛 💔0 -
I would go ADR. Taking Ryanair to court gets messy as you can't use UK small claims. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

I will do ADR then but are they fair or biased for the airline? If that fails what’s my next step I didn’t realise I couldn’t use the UK small claims courts…0

I have dealt with one twice, one went my way, the other was a bit risky for me but didn't.💙💛 💔0 -
