I have already done this and received a reply from them quoting EU261 regulations saying they must only pay compensation for full fare paying passengers and as I did not pay full fare they did not have to compensate her.It seems I will have to proceed to court as they won't budge.0
-
can you post what they said because it is bovine excrement. the regulations say To qualify for compensation, each passenger needs to have paid a fare available to the general public. This means that children and infants do qualify for compensation, if they were not travelling on a free child place. So if you paid anything for the infant you are due compensation. I believe Ryanair do an infant price of around £20. Google and download vaubans guide, read and on page 6 is a letter before action template. Fill it out and send it to them.0

Yes the £20 fare was paid. The reply was,
"Dear Mr P,
I refer to your online correspondence dated 14/11/2017.
I regret to inform you that under the EU 261 regulation we must pay compensation only to full fare paying passengers ,if they are entitled.
As an infant do not pay for a full fare,we are not in a position to pay compensation to him.
Assuring you of our best intentions at all times.
Yours Sincerley
Laszlo Martin.
Customer services"
I have corresponded with them since but received no reply.0 -
They are wrong and just trying to fob you off. Follow the advice I gave.0

Tut tut Ryanair, misquoting the regulations, so blatantly lying to your customers? Who would have thought Mr O'Leary would allow such a thing?
The regulation: Article 3, paragraph 3,
"3. This Regulation shall not apply to passengers travelling free of charge or at a reduced fare not available directly or indirectly to the public."
Nowhere in the regulation does it say full fare paying passenger. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
The alleged Ringleader.........0 -
Thank you for your advice which I indeed intend to follow.
I will update further if and when I make progress as to the outcome
It's the principal we were lied to over the delay and now over the compensation . Once again many thanks.0 -
I am looking for some advice regarding my flight delay.
I was due to fly back from Zadar in Crotia on a late evening flight, the plane was diverted to Split and we were informed our flight would now leave from Split at 2.35 am. We were transferred to Split and checked in but we did not board, instead we spent the next 6 hours in a closed departure lounge.
We were then transferred to a hotel for approx. 3 hours before returning to the airport where our flight eventually left about 3pm. During the whole delay we were not informed what was going on, no Ryan Air representative spoke to us. After claiming for compensation and chasing Ryan Air as "they were busy with other claims" they informed us we are not entitled to anything, is this correct?0 -
the fact that the plane was diverted could indicate weather issues / medical emergency...what was the reason for the diversion?
you could repost your flight details on the dedicated Ryanair thread0 -
Yes the original flight was diverted due to bad weather but then the flight was reschedule to leave at 2.35 am sun but left 3pm Sunday.
Where will I find the ryan air thread?0 -
