Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Ryanair ONLY

I am looking to get money back due to a cancelled flight yesterday. (Flight FR9886)
The plane itself was on the tarmac for a couple of hours, due to the snow. In which time it got worse and they cancelled the flight and offered us no alternatives. As a consequence we were unable to get any sort of replacement and have cancelled the entire holiday (we were only going Tues till Sat.)
When putting in the details onto the Ryanair website to seek a refund it is telling me "Your flight reservation number is invalid. Please check the flight reservation number you have entered". I have checked and doubled checked all the information but it is all correct (including the reservation number) so I have no idea what to do from here.
Any help would be much appreciated.0 -
Well I didn't hear anything from the court, like no other letters in the mail, just got an email from ryanairs solicitor, attaching their response.
And the reason I saw it so late is because the response was sent to my old email which I originally made a a compensation claim to ryanair to, but I gave the court a new email on the claim form.
ihaveaq,
Contact your court to see if they have had response from RA. It should have been sent to them as per the ESCP process and then they should have forwarded this to you. RA shouldn't have contacted you directly with their response.
From what you have said, the response you have got from RA sounds to me like they are just up to old tricks;- claiming whatever reason for your delay, and claiming unjustified fees for costs. All designed to make you give up and go away.
Post back on here when you have spoken to your court and have sight of an official response from RA.
Good luck and keep going.Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.

It is a valid flight number. EuClaim have your flight number and say you might be due 400euro compensation0

It looks like Ryanair may be doing another tranche of cancellations for the summer. Our May half term Timisoara flights were cancelled last week, so we re-booked to Bucharest. Today they've cancelled Bucharest. Not impressed! We have given up and asked for a refund  It's still going to leave us about £45 out of pocket for other charges (travel insurance cost, can't claim as it's below the excess, car park cancellation fee and airB&B non refundable service charge). I appreciate Ryanair don't have to refund these based on regulations. It's not just the money though - they've cost us our entire holiday, since we can't find any similarly priced alternatives.0

Hi, I'm looking for some advice. 7 month ago we have had delayed flight, I have applied for compensation and they agreed as aircraft had technical foult. So since august 2017 I'm waiting for the cheque. Every time I'm complaining to them about payment not received, they send me same email as I have to wait for another 28 working days. I'm tired now, can somebody advice me how to get money from them? As now is 26 weeks after ryanair accept compensation. Thanks in advance.0

KingBuxton13 and vorexx,
You need to contact the CAA or follow the advice in this post....

The CAA are the regulator and only they can put a stop to this recurring problem.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -

Typical modern day journalism - report the problem but
a) not establish correctly was the actual law is.

Hello,
I have a claim open with RyanAir on Resolver, and it looks like I'm going to take it to the Spanish agencies.
I was flying Malaga to Stansted. The weather was clear in Malaga (I took screenshots and pictures). The weather was foggy in Stansted.
Our plane did not arrive into Malaga until 2 hours after we were meant to depart, and we were stuck on the tarmac for another hour and a bit before we could get a runway slot. We were three hours late before we left the sunny and glorious Malaga.
Our plane had flown from Budapest (where the weather was fine as well) and before that from Stansted (where it was delayed).
So the flight before the flight before my flight was delayed because of weather, and because RyanAir runs their planes with 0 tolerance for delays and absolutely no contingency, my flight was delayed.
To make matters worse, we were routed to Gatwick instead of Stansted because there was too long of a queue to land at Stansted. We were already 3.5 hours late when we got the call we were going to be diverted.
I have a claim, but they say they don't need to pay a single penny because 'of fog'. They aren't elaborating or providing any further response. Their message is:
"On behalf of Ryanair, we once again apologise for the diversion of your flight FR8165 from and subsequent delay, due to fog.
As the diversion and subsequent delay were for safety reasons and therefore outside Ryanair’s control we regret to advise that no monetary compensation is due under EU Regulation 261/2004."
When it first happened and I looked into it, I recall a successful court case where the airline was claiming weather delays earlier down the line, but they still had to pay out because they should have sent another plane, or planned their flight timetable better.
My flight was not delayed due to weather, it was delayed because of the way RyanAir runs their business, with half an hour between flights and no effort to pick up passengers with a different plane.
I am really struggling to google information on this kind of circumstance, because the bulk of the information out there is where flights have delayed YOUR flight, not earlier delays on the network. Do you have information on this - where airlines have claimed weather delays elsewhere in the world as justification to not pay out?Mortgage started at £318,000 in June 2016. Original MF - 2041

Welcome. Please repost on the Ryanair thread rather than make your own new personal thread. Personal threads significantly clutter up the board and make it far more difficult for regulars to help and for new members to do a search.
But you probably do have a claim. Spanish regulator will probably be a little help even if they find in your favour. You'll probably have to escalte to ESCP.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
