I assume there were 2 of you and the distance was less than 1500km.
  • Received a refund of £659.50 for 3 people for a flight from Bristol to Alicante delayed on 22nd July.
I filled out the compensation form on the Ryanair website and they immediately admitted liability and after a short delay and a few emails back and forth the money showed up today.
  • Hello, my daughter and I were delayed on the 2 August coming back from Bergerac with Ryanair to EMA by 3hrs 25 mins due to a technical fault with the plane. Claimed using Resolver on the 8 August, received an email through Resolver stating I would get €500 compensation on the 10 August, received cheque on Saturday 19 August. Thought you guys would be interested.

    Hi steffibabes,

You are one, of four or five posters recently who have all been very lucky, imo.

RA don't give in easily and this doesn't follow their usual M O, perhaps the CAA have quietly been at work.

It's good to know that some are getting their compensation tho.

Ryanair paid me out within a week for a 3 Hr 50 minute delay so maybe they have changed their stance - I expected it to be very difficult with their reputation.
The only gripe I have is that they must have some lousy kind of currency exchange, I got £436 cheque which is short of the E500 (Wife & I) I thought was the fixed payment. Even so I'm not unhappy with the experience. I do fly quite a lot with Ryanair so don't know if that made any difference

Ryanair want full planes - they seem set up to make their profits on all the extras they do rather than the flight itself. If the plane is half empty as departure nears they do drop the prices, sometimes to silly low prices to get those seats filled. When I'm free I sometimes book these crazy low prices and take in a new destination I might not have previously considered but that's no help to you or anyone with specific travel dates they must travel on

Interesting, it's the first time I've been in this situation. I hope more people are successful.

Mine is still on-going, it looks as though Natwest may well pay up so Ryanair appear to have got away with it, duty of care? does not exist with them.

I'll just add to good news stories on Ryanair. My daughter and boyfriend delayed going to Mallorca. Followed advice on multiple threads from MSE and I filled in their compensation form from Ryanair. They got an acknowledgement almost straight away, within 2 weeks an email saying compensation awarded and two weeks later money appeared in their account, just over £700 for the two of them. So they do pay up but I was very careful completing the form, I had screenshots from both airports and noted flights from the airlines had left on time and arrived, etc etc.
  • watch out for Ryannair if you have a 1 year old who turns 2 while on holiday. computer system caused loads of problems. as per usual ryannair did not care.
