I know this is probably silly but my phone has a gps timeline which shows it's location at whatever given time I select. Also could the airport not disprove when Ryanair landed?

My understanding is that the flightstats arrival time is when the airplane has come to a stop at the stand - not when it hits the runway.
  • So a bit of progress. My insurance has agreed to help me to take the case to court and they believe I've a reasonable chance of success. I'll keep you all posted.

Interesting. But as the article says, this issue was settled years ago with the Air Baltic case. And consumer protections provided by European law can't be overridden by an airline's terms and conditions. I even think the Regulation itself is explicit about that.

Yes its the usual case of companies (not just airlines) thinking that their T&Cs overule the law of the land....

    Yes I quite agree.

It's just Ryanair doing a good impersonation of a worm on a hook:)

  • Just a quick update from myself re: a delayed flight from Manchester to Corfu (3.5 hour delay)...

    Ryanair PAID OUT! Woohoo!

I instructed Bott&Co after Ryanair disregarded a letter I sent and after around 12 weeks, I've recieved a cheque from Ryanair to settle the claim.

I have since been invoiced by Bott&Co for their services, which is 25%+VAT of the settlement PLUS £25 per passenger... It's steep, I know, (you end up with 63% of the claim) but I don't think I'd have been paid a penny, if it wasn't for their services.

    Anyway, CASE CLOSED.

Ryanair claim tracker. Logged a claim which they have confirmed. My details(booking ref, cust ref) don't work in the claim tracker, is this a ploy?

With Ryanair, everything is a ploy, to avoid paying out...

    The alleged Ringleader.........
  • Hi,
Hoping for some info...I'm not sure if FAQ and Vauban's Guide is a link, but I can't click on it (I'm not very computer savvy). ...It may have been previously spoken about, but this post is very long.
Basically, I have read about using MSE and Resolver for delayed flights claims and have found that Ryan air has their own claims page on their website, claiming that :-
    Why use our services

    • Absolutely no upfront fees, charges apply only in case of a win
    • Save time and money of going after the airlines yourself
    • Get the full compensation and avoid settling for less
    • Online claim process makes applying a breeze.
So can anyone tell me...is this just a Ryan air scam to get you to settle with them and then charge you for the privilege if you do succeed, and perhaps trying to keep you away from organisations like resolver, hoping to blag you with nonsense that Resolver would know to fight against, or is it actually a better/quicker system? Is it better to go through Resolver? Or is it better just to start from scratch and write your own email (perhaps at least using MSE templates).

Also, the 'extreme circumstances' invalidating your claim are not clear. I have seen two sources saying 'Bad weather' is and 'extreme circumstance' and others saying 'political unrest or bomb scares' are what counts as 'extreme'.

Thank you for any info you can give.
