That's interesting to know. I meant in terms of my claim for 261/400 compensation being paid as I was under the impression that there were many of us in the same boat. Wil ask about these insolvency proceedings tomorrow.May'18 DEBT FREE!

Edit the above. This is what I was told
"However, the High Court Sheriffs are aware of the matter in general and have been instructed ahead of time to enforce judgments awarded and also petitions to file for bankruptcy have also been scheduled should further defaults be made on agreements with Ryan Airs Solicitors".0 -
Just been advised that Ryanair have been ordered to pay out for my claim, absolutely delighted.
Thanks to all for your advice.May'18 DEBT FREE!

Hi - hoping for a bit of advice before I start the process - 10 passengers traveling from Alicante to Edinburgh in March 2010, delayed and then bussed to Valencia and flown home from there - was due to fog at Alicante - is it too late to submit a compensation claim? Thanks in advance for any help/assistance0

You have no claim as your flight was delayed by weather - an EC or extraordinary circumstance beyond the airlines control.
For future reference:
If you are making a claim in Scotland, you are too late, as you have to start legal proceedings within 5 years.
If you can use an England address for court correspondance then you have until whatever date in March (ie 6 years, not 5) that you were delayed, to get you court papers submitted. But you ideally have to give 2 weeks legal notice to Ryanair that you intend to take legal action to give them oppurtunity..If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

I would appreciate some advice please on behalf of my daughter.
18.30 flight from Cologne to Stansted was delayed as Ryan Air had apparently flown to the wrong airport in Germany. After a two hour delay passengers were put onto another plane where they waited for an hour and then had to disembark for some reason.
They finally got a flight at 23.30. No drinks or food were offered at Cologne airport.
She missed her National Express bus home and had to sleep on the floor at Stansted Airport for six hours until the first bus left at 06.30.
She asked for drinks and food to be provided for the passengers that had to wait overnight but none was provided.
She then had to pay £45 for a new National Express ticket as they said they could have been a bit flexible for just an hour or so but in this case it was another day completely.
Ryan Air are now saying they won't compensate for the bus ticket and she hasn't had any communication from them for a couple of weeks. Surely this is the least they could do.
She also missed a days work although her company have very kindly paid her anyway.0 -

Are they compensating for the delay itself?
Anyway, you will find all you need to know on the "Flight Delay Compensation Important Info - Please check before posting" thread:

Ok thanks, I'll have a look at the thread.
No nothing's been offered. She would have been grateful for a coffee and sandwich and refund of bus ticket but now she's annoyed so she'll take it further.0 -
Me thinks she might be due flight delay compensation. Read Vaubans guide and send notice before action to Ryanair. All explained in the guide. Post her flight details and someone will check( day date flight number)0

And unfortunately airlines are stupidly failing to realise this. If they actually took care of all the problems they cause by delays cancellations and denied boarding, people might be far less inclined to seek their full compensation. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
