Indeed JPears, although I hope their poor conduct helps my case, as we have the facts!

Hi all,
As I wrote a few times before about our case, being delayed last year for 9 hours coming to Dublin from Majorca, I didn't have any joy so far trying to get compensation for this.
I am wondering if any of you tried to get compensation trough a specialized company i.e. flightdelays.co.uk and is it worth it to go this way? Our claim will be for €1,600, so after they'll deduct their fee it still be worth it, I'm just concern about the "small printing"...thank you.0 -

I've requested for the form D to be sent to me. Once things get moving with the Sheriff, is just the £20 fee I need to pay or will they charge a % as well? Also, will RA pay the Sheriff or me directly?
Thanks,0 -

Thanks,
Medis111,
The fee to pay the sheriff is all you will need to pay to procure their services. They won't take a percentage from your claim.
RA will pay the sheriff direct, and then the sheriff will pay you.

Hi all,
Was delayed for 7 hours coming back from Malta last Monday with a Ryanair flight.
There's two of us, and it's ~2100km according to the Great Circle Mapper website - so I think we're owed €800 in total.
Ryanair have already sent an email claiming Extraordinary Circumstances, and of course, didn't say at the time what the problem was - though I overheard staff saying there were technical issues and a new plane was needed.
I've read through Vauban's guide and post #569.
My question is (and I haven't seen it quite covered this way) what's the most time efficient way to handle this? It seems like there's days worth of work, and liability for travel expenses should I try and do the legal work myself, so I'm tempted just to go down the NWNF route immediately.
The guide refers to 'Bott and Co' - are they the best recommended? I ask as I've managed to keep myself off those horrible PPI texts and calls and I really don't want to give my contacts to an unscrupulous company.
If I'm going to go down that route, is it worth even making the first initial claim?
Thanks all for your help0 -

chrisgeller,
The most time efficient way?
Depends really. If your flight claim was from a while ago and a NWNF company like Botts' had already had some success with other claimants from this flight then they could have been the quickest route to secure your compensation.
Basically they would have sourced this from their databases and informed RA of past court success stories to try and persuade them to settle without court action.
As your flight was only a week ago this is not going to be the case- so now the choice is yours.
If going NWNF i'd always recommend Botts' purely for their sterling work in bringing the case law in the UK to where it is with the Dawson and Huzar cases.
If you are going alone then yes there is some time involved, although this shouldn't require your actual attendance at a court when using the ESCP to sue Ryanair.
You have read Vaubans guide and my post #569, so you will have a good idea of the case law and the process you need to follow, if you go on your own -you won't be.
Help is always here to guide you through. Whichever way you choose:-

And any screw in a tyre is far more likely to have been picked up on the floor of a maintenance hanger than on a runway. Unless planes are dropping parts all the time on landing and takeoff? If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Does the SCP Certificate (form D) have a different name. I rang the court again, spoken to 4 different people and they have no idea what it is. I tried explaining to them what it was for but they could not help me.
Thanks0 -

Medis111,
Nope it's not called anything else.
Ask Leeds Court for an e mail address where you can send documents to, and then copy and paste the links to the ESCP Process from my post #569, and also a copy of Form D.
Again, once they have read the process ask them politely to populate your Form D so you can execute your order/judgment using the sheriff's service in Ireland.
And by the way - shame on you at Leeds Court for not knowing this simple procedure.
