so I just spoke with BA customer relations - they said they are reviewing all compensation claim cases involving technical problems in light of the Huzar CoA judgement, but that it is with the lawyers and could take weeks to months. I said I was giving them a chance to avoid legal action and they replied to the effect that I should do what I have to do...0

Why might it take months to review this judgement? Indeed, why do they need to review it at all? Sounds to me like they are stalling in the hope that Jet2 get permission to appeal directly to the Supreme Court.
Regardless, Trevor, it looks like you've got your answer: BA aren't about to play nice. Which is a shame. But at least you know what you need to do next.0 -
Hi, on 7th Feb this year I flew on BA215 LHR to BOS. We were delayed for 5 hours and I remember the captain saying we were being offloaded because paperwork hadnt been submitted so they needed to do re-tests.
was anyone else here on this flight and have you submitted a claim? I've just emailed via the form on BA's website and had the autoresponse back to say they're looking into it but because (from my recollection) it's so clearly them at fault I'm hoping for a speedy resolution....just wondering if I'm being over optimistic?0 -
Hi, just to update anyone who's reading, BA emailed me this morning (under 48 hours since I contacted them). They've not contested my claim at all and offered the full €600. All they want is my bank details to pay the money to.
Very grateful for all the clear information contained in this site.
Thank you!!0 -
glad to hear that amberc
But although I sent them a NBA, I have not had a reply or been offered anything, no avios, not a penny - what am I doing wrong? I suppose it is just a different case. I'm thinking maybe it was a mistake to mention Huzar? Maybe I should have only relied on Wallentin?0 -

It does appear rather odd but each case is different. amberc said the delay was because "paperwork hadnt been submitted so they needed to do re-tests" which suggests there wasn't a "technical issue" as such.0 -
@TrevorSmith
Sorry I can't see the original post from you that says why your flight was delayed. I think mine has been so quick because on the day the captain stated the reason for delay was their error. I expect that will have been logged somewhere their end so that if anyone should ask they don't even bother spending anyone's time on trying to wiggle out of it.
I just used the template from this site and pasted my bits in with the flight date, delay duration etc and didn't even embellish with what I thought the reason for the delay was or why I felt I deserved compensation, just kept it to a bare minimum.0 -
Sent email for claim from 2010 to Vegas as a delay over 5 hours and reply 1 week later confirming 600 euro compensation uncontested.0

scott2c can you say what was the cause of the delay you suffered?0
