Not heard anything yet, any ideas how long it will take?0

To book the same holiday again is going to cost about double, could I claim on my credit card for this? What about loss of enjoyment?0

Hi, can anyone help? Our flight from Heathrow to San Fran was delayed 6 hrs then cancelled, we were rebooked 2 days later flying to LA instead. We lost 2 days of our 14 day holiday. I had independently booked & paid for a hotel in San Fran, Alcatraz tickets & an internal flight to LA with another airline. All of those things were missed due to our 48 hr rebook. Ive put a claim for compensation in to BA but after reading up it look like BA will not cover the costs of hotel, excursion or internal flight. Is this right?? It seems unfair seeing it was there fault for them being missed? I have a letter from BA admitting technical issues caused out cancellation? & can anyone give me a rough idea what we can expect to receive? Thanks0

Put your flight details into bottonline and euclaim and see what they say. You will not be able to claim for hotel etc. But BA were naughty they should have told you that they could re-route you with another Airline but obviously didn't. Maybe use that fact as a lever to at least get some of the other expenses back. You should get €600 per passenger compensation even children. Remember if you did have children the €600 is theirs not your's. You could check your insurance policy. Did you stay at the airport?0

Thanks, yes we stayed for 2 nights at a hotel in the airport. We were offered a flight to San Fran 2 days later but due to our itinerary we couldn’t take that option as we needed to be in LA that day so we asked to be re routed. We can claim off our insurance but it seems wrong that due to a fault of BA I will have to suffer the increased premium when I renew insurance cause I’ve made a claim0

Did they pay for the hotel? and did they pay for all your food minus alcoholic drinks?
So what is the purpose of having insurance if it is not to be able claim when needed, otherwise there is no purpose for it.0 -
They paid for the hotel, breakfast & evening meal. I have put a claim for lunch & soft drinks with our meal. The €600 won’t cover the outlying costs given the price we paid for flights originally. It’s just frustrating.. we lost 2 days out of our holiday & it seems they’ll take responsibility for the flight , but hard luck on anything else.0
