Do not use a no win no fee "company" as they are not properly regulated, if at all. Make sure you use a NWNF solicitor.

Hi I wonder if anyone could advise please. Our tui flight from Manchester to Montenegro was delayed by 6 hours due to a burst tyre on the plane which we were supposed to be boarding. We were informed of this by the pilot when we finally boarded. This apparently happened when the plane was landing in Malaga. We had to wait for a replacement plane from the Canaries. When we boarded the plane, the pilot told us that tui sent a crew to malaga but they were unable to replace the tyre and therefore we were sent a replacement aircraft from the Canaries. We gave tried to make a claim and tui have responded saying we dont have a case to claim as it was an extraordinary circumstance. Is it worth pursuing the claim? Thank you.

Hi - I have submitted a NBA letter to Tui in response to my reply and gave them 14 days, which expired yesterday and I have had no reply. I am not sure what to do next, do I start to initiate a legal claim at this stage or wait for a response?

There is no need to initiate legal proceedings in a case such as this. If you want to keep your stress levels in check go back a step and ask the airline for a deadlock or final position letter so that you can refer your case to CEDR for an independent adjudication.

Tyre problems are a straightforward technical problem for the airline and there is legal president to fall back on.

CEDR know this and will sort it out in your favour.

If for some strange unknown reason CEDR find against you, the legal route is then available.

    Good luck.

Our Tui Tunisia to Manchester flight was delayed by 18 hours, 2 adults and a child.
    We was expecting 3X 400 euro but received a cheque for £691, I'm guessing 3X 250 euro
There's no break down of the monies or contact details.
    Any advice
    Thanks

    Hi,

No, they have paid you 2x 400euros at the rate of 1.157.

They will have not paid you for the child, did you pay anything for him/her?

The child was a free place, I thought it didn't matter if it was a free place or cheap ticket etc ?
    Thanks for the reply

Some companies will give free child places but charge a booking fee of around £20. If you paid ANYTHING for the child you are due another €400.

Thanks for the replies, no booking fee etc was paid for the child, I now see it is correct.
Thanks for clearing things up 👍
