You complain to the Airline that being Thomsons
  • Hi there

We were delayed over 4hrs on a thomsons flight as part of a first choice package. Now i know there are the same company but which one of them do I complain to for compensation

    TIA

I claimed against Thomson Airways Limited, TUI Travel House, Crawley Business Quarter, Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 9QL
  • I see a few posts about CEDR and Thomson. I have recently just received a cheque from Thomson after going through CEDR. It takes time and Thomson have left their responses to the day before every deadline. Just follow everything to the letter and prompt CEDR when deadlines have been passed. I can confirm it does work and I was very pleased with CEDR.

    Hi all!

Can i run something past the collective before I start further proceedings regarding my Thomson delay complaint.

So we were going on honeymoon in September to Orlando Florida. We set off at 9:45 and 2 hours into the flight we were told we were heading back to Gatwick due to technical difficulties. This was on a Thomson dreamliner, and the flight and hotel booked with Thomson.

On returning to the airport...there was no one. Thomson staff were not present at the airport, they were represented by Swissport, and only one member who had no idea what was happening. We promptly applied for our compensation. We were not allowed to leave the airport etc etc. at 8pm that evening (over 12 hours since we arrived at the airport) we were told that our flight would be the next day...and then we had to go back through passport control and collect our bags.

At 11pm we were then told we would be placed into hotels in central london (over an hour away) for our flight the next day.

We spent the night on the airport floor instead after a terrible day, and not even trusting Thomson to get that part right!!

We received a letter once we arrived at Orlando stating it had been a 25 hour delay and how to apply for compensation.

So my partner and I have received the auto email stating they are due to contact us within 56 days....which is wednesday. I havent heard anything, so is my next step the CEDR or CAA?

    Thank you.

    Hi rockm87,

Don't bother with the CAA, ultimately it will get you no where.

CEDR is a relatively new method for claiming compensation and we have not had a great deal of feedback about it on this forum.

It's worth giving it a try tho because it's quicker, less risky and cost less that using the MCOL method. Your claim seem to be perfectly valid and straightforward.

If you do go down that route please keep us updated on your progress.

    Good Luck.

  • Hi folks, have been using Resolver to attempt to make a claim about a delayed flight in May with Thomson.

I've been going around in circles. I started off following Resolver as instructed, escalated where required. Then... nothing. So a few moans on Twitter got a response to e-mail a different address. "You will have a reply within 24 hours."

Place your bets... did we? :rotfl:

A few more Tweetmoans and emails to flight delay and Thomson Cares, and eventually I get a response

Guess what... they never received anything from Resolver. Despite this, my entire thread of information was included in my e-mail so they clearly just were not interested in reading that to actually help.

Anyway. Just escalated to CEDR but I have seen that some people have had issues with CEDR and Resolver too? Would I be best off binning off Resolver and going to CEDR direct?

Good to see I'm not the only one having Thomson beef :rotfl:

  • My claim is with CEDR at the moment. They give Thomson 14 days to respond. No response, so they allocate to a adjudicator. Next action? 14 days later..... Ho hum...
  • Jetters

I didn't use resolver at all. Complained direct to Thomson, got my rejection and then went direct to CEDR and submitted loads of evidence for my case.
  • The secret with Thomsons is to keep up the momentum. They have so many claims that they cannot cope and prioritise those who are in the Court system or the CEDR system.

Just to let you all know CEDR chased Thomson and they have now confirmed a BACs payment has been raised. Just waiting for the money to hit our account. :)
