I would like to say a very big thank you to this page and all who contribute.
Flight delay in 2013 from Lanzarote for 5 adults one 11 year old that I paid full adult fare for due to all inclusive holiday.27+ hrs flight delay
wasn't confident to claim myself so with the help of resolver I have a result !
began the claim last August eventually was referred from CAA to AESA 4/12/2015
Thomson wrote a letter dated 8/12/15 which I have just received today enclosing a cheque for £1691.45 !
states 400 euros each, but I do not understand how they have worked out the settlement figure
I would recommend anyone in my position to use Resolver0 -

Thanks JPears
Mystery solved then, Thomsons exchange of €400 = £281 !
They must have paid out for the 11 year old as well
Feel a bit ripped off with the exchange but better than nothing and all over and done with now0 -
They have used a very very poor exchange rate for my compensation payout also !0

After 3 months back and forward with the help of resolver i got this today.
Dear Mr Gunn,
Thank you for taking the time to contact Thomson Airways.
I am sorry to learn that you were involved in a flight delay, as we fully appreciate how this can affect a holiday experience.
Regarding the claim which has been made under the EU Regulation 261/2004, I can confirm that this flight TOM889 was scheduled to fly with Astreaus.
Article 1(7) of the regulation states "In order to ensure the effective application of this Regulation, the obligations that it creates should rest with the operating air carrier who performs or intends to perform a flight, whether with owned aircraft, under dry or wet lease, or any other basis."
We are therefore unable to take the matter any further.
At Thomson Airways we really value our ability to meet customer expectations. We already invest significantly in operational initiatives, engineering excellence and having a modern fleet; they all help to keep the frequency and duration of delays to an absolute minimum. In terms of on-time performance, for the past few years Thomson Airways has consistently been one of the best performing airlines in the UK and we work hard to maintain the title of most on-time charter airline.
I hope to see you travelling with Thomson Airways in the near future and should you wish to look into booking with us, then please visit us online or please call on 0844 871 0871.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Chelsey Rowe

Can i do anything else ?0 -
Who did you actually fly with ....Thomson or the now defunct Astreaus? No need to duplicate post by the way.0
-
Did Thomson effectively code share with Astreus, or did they wet lease their planes? I bet it's the latter, in which case the claim would be against Thomson, even if the OP flew on an Astreus plane.0

Flew with Thomson on a Thomson package holiday
Can`t delete other post , made it before i saw this dedicated one0
