Just wondering if anyone else has had a call?
I've already sent in a claim, got the standard 2 year letter, so replied with an NBA a few weeks ago. Heard nothing from them so started my MCOL last week.
I had a missed call from 0844 8711578 last night, which when I called back, was a recorded message saying I had been called by Thomson regarding a holiday I had previously taken with them and they would try me again.
Anyone else been contacted this way??0 -
First letter sent to Thomson Airlines this morning by registered post. If no suitable reply within 14 days I will contact aviationreg dot ie (I'm in Ireland) to take the next step.

Hey! I'm so glad I have just read your thread!! I sent a letter off to Thomson 2 weeks ago about this flight and already told them not to ask for flight tickets stubs etc as after 2 years its totally unjustified to even ask for that stuff. I did remind them that its based on the time that we landed at Punta Cana...not the time we left Glasgow and the 1.5 hr wait or so for change of crew and re-fulling at Manchester. Do you happen to still have the letter that they gave us when we came back into Glasgow? What did Thomson say to your original letter? How much is it to take it to the small claims courts and what court do you think it will be in?
Hope you can get back to me.
Thanks
Graeme Francis
Have sent you a message regarding your flight from Glasgow to Punta Cana0 -
Hello
My family was delayed for several hours last September on a First Choice flight from Bodrum to Manchester. Thomson eventually sent one of their own planes to fly us back to manchester it should have been a First Choice plane. I sent a template letter taken from this site to Thomson claiming damages on 21st February 2013. I received this response on the 5th March 2013.
Dear Sir
Thank you for taking time to contact us.
We aim to respond within 28 days but I'm sure you can appreciate, we are currently in our busiest period. It's important to us that your comments are given the attention they deserve and therefore, during this busy period, responses may be slower than we would like.
If you don't hear from us within 28 days, please rest assured we have'nt forgotten you. We'll be in contact with a full response as soon as we can. Thankyou for your patience and understanding.
Yours Sincerely
Signed

Please could someone advise me. Thomson have gone over the 28 days. Is this a delaying tactic by them. I sent them all the relevant flight details and booking confirmation as well.

First Choice and Thomson amalgamated in 2008, there are still 6 aircraft in First Choice Livery, but they are all Thomson aircraft0 -
Hi
I wrote to Thompson on 08/11/12 re a flight from MAN on 10/10/08 which was delayed by 10 hours. Today I received forms from them to be completed prior to their investigation. With my letter I enclosed a copy of the booking confirmation and receipt. The form says that I need to attach my boarding passes, which I did not keep. Is it just Thompson that have asked for these as I can't find a mention of this in any other posts? They say the claim forms will be returned if not fully completed so its looks as though I can take this no further. Have you heard of any similar situation?
Regards
mshopeful
Don't worry if you have lost your boarding pass. I recently put a claim in with Thomson and I did not have my boarding pass. I rung Thomson and was told not to worry just write in the space where the boarding pass was to go that you do not have your boarding pass.
My claim was for a 23 hr delay from Manchester to Cuba. My claim was rejected this week as it was down to a fuel leak on the aircrafts previous flight. Good luck with your claim,0 -

My wife and were delayed over 15 hours travelling from Manchester to Mombassa 26th Jan 2009. We were given a document from them stating the reasons etc. The aircraft had a technical fault. Using MSE's template I mailed Thomsons and got a standard for to complete. This was done including all information and documentation required plus more.
I received a letter today from them starting off with the usual apologies blurb then goes on to say and I quote.
"The European Court of Justice has confirmed that, as the Regulation doesn't say how long the passengers have to bring their claims, we need to look at our national law. The Supreme Court in the UK has said that all claims to do with "international carriage by air" are subject to the framework of the Montreal Convention which provided that claims need to be brought within two years. We, therefore can't consider claims for flights delayed more than two years ago."
I will be taking this further with them as I cannot see the point of the ECJ stating that delays can be claimed for as far back as 2005 if we cannot claim further back than 2011.
