As I have said previously, I have never been in a birdstrike incident so cannot possibly claim to be an expert!

Yes, sent it off today (and a recorded delivery copy to Thomson). Asked for it to be my local court as I have major mobility problems. I've also done a FOA request to the CAA re bird strikes, thanks for the help in here, appreciated.

This link shows details of a Ryanair delay period due to a birdstrike ..... if Ryanair (not known for looking after their customers!) can sort out an alternative then other airlines should follow suit.

A bit further down in the blog is does say this:

our panel solicitors continue to take on such cases..... they have had some recent successes in getting settlements for bird strike claims
