Thanks Vauban.
The original claim was for €1800, delayed flight was Feb 2010. Is the
1. 8% interest pa? (8% x 4 years + €1800=€2376)
2. therefore bringing my total claim less court cost €2376.00?
I will go back and reread, thank you.
Then you are probably in the next bracket for fees (£1500-3000), which is £115 application and £170 hearing.0 -

I would try for compound interest if I were you.0 -

the Simple Interest method is used for court claims. Some info here:

Also here (and the linked post referred to in this post):

I think (and am wiling to be corrected on this) that the court fees are based on the amount of the claim without the interest. I would say that is because any interest claimed may not actually be awarded. It is at the Judges discretion what (if any) interest rate is to be used and the claimant may end end up not getting any interest at all.The above is just my opinon - which counts for nowt! I've had no reply from Thomson despite reminding them last month that they still owe us our flight delay compo from our Manc-Chambery flight back in February 2010.
I've been very patient with them so far but enough's enough and my LBA has gone in the post today and will arrive at Thomson Towers sometime tomorrow.
Tick-tock!:D0 -
I sent my NBA on 20th October and also sent an email through Thomson's site on 3rd November in light of the Huzar and Dawson appeals but have still heard nothing.
Should I just try and start legal proceedings or give them a little longer given how much they have to work through?
I've also just moved house so how would be the best way of letting them know this and making sure any future correspondence comes to my new address?0 -

You've issued the NBA, so you should follow through on this, otherwise you will not be taken seriously issuing empty threats.
You will find that once legal action has began, a legally enforceable timescale then comes into effect and Thomsons will have to deal with your case.
EDIT - in answer to your change of address, simply write to them.
At the moment your case will be at the bottom, YOU have to raise it to the top! After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Today is 14 days, i.e. D Day for Thomson's after my NBA. I'm planning on trying to now follow through with court action, I just need to find the bl^^dy time to do it with all I've got going on! I wish they would make it easy for me and just pay up........0 -

Yes - but I wish we had world peace, and that ain't gonna happen either.
So we pays our money and takes our choice: NWNF, or DIY; no hassle for less cash, or some hard work but more cash (and deep satisfaction!).
Personally, with the Huzar judgement in the bag - and the help on here - it's a lot less work than it used to be. At least no one has to argue the finer points of Wallentin anymore, like what 111KAB and I had to do ...;)0 -
Can someone please advise me
We booked a holiday with Thomson to Florida in August this year we were due to fly on the dreamliner our flight was delayed by over 10 hours and we ended up flying on a 767 the knock on effect was that we landed in Sanford at 02.00 in the morning the following day extremely tired after finding our villa and doing a brief food shop we eventually got to bed at 04.00 therefore the first day of our holiday was lost.
We have written to Thomson stating all the facts but they have virtually stuck 2 fingers up at us, we have received money back for not flying on the dreamliner but that is all but nothing for the delay or other expenses incurred.0
