  • Well done:beer:
Please can you (or anyone else) tell me what e-mail address to use to see if they will now settle before the court case. The original after travel email address I used is no longer in use and none of their subsequent correspondence has included an email address and going via their website means doing it as if raising a new issue.
Just before the Supreme Court's decisions I heard from the court that they would be hearing the case on the extraordinary circumstances defence sometime in the new year but that it would be stayed on the two year defence.

    Try this: customer.legal@thomson.co.uk
  • We accepted £1040 on a £1080 claim, it was at court stage and had not been stayed but Thomson did not bother to follow the judges directions and as such did not give any requested documentation to the court, We gave them a deadline and they made an offer £40 less than asked for but decided to settle and get it over and done with.
    Good luck everybody else:):A

Well done - you were right to accept the offer but how petty of Thomson to 'deduct' £40 - you would think it worthwhile to pay in full in the hope you may use them again.
  • Yes - they should be giving people extra goodwill payments as an apology for being such a pain in the bum for so long! :naughty:
  • The answer to this is probably elsewhere in this thread, but at 291 pages it would be a bit of a bind to find it, so apologies in advance.

Just filling out the N1 claim form for 7 of us, where it says defendant name and address, am I better putting Thomson Airlines or Thomson Holidays, and are the addresses any different?

Sorry again for being a pain.

They are completely different companies, so if you sue Thomson Holidays you risk your claim failing (and having to start again - with extra fees)! As you would if you put in Thomson Airlines - as they don't exist!

It is Thomson Airways Ltd, and the address is their head office at Wigmore House in Luton, I believe.
  • SUCCESS (nearly). 817 (ish) days after our delay Thomson want to settle!! Just haggling over the rate of interest. Maybe, just maybe, there will be a turkey on the table at CubaTony Towers this Christmas!! Will update with full story when negotiations conclude.

I've just received a lovely cheque for £938 this morning from Thomson. It took them 60 days but only cost me one letter and one email. Originally I gave them 14 days, but unfortunately due to illness I wasn't able to deal with it so left it with them. I hope other people are as successful.
  • I think we will find a lot more of this happening. I am aware of one case where Les Oiseaux have requested a further stay but so far not granted
