So they could make up any reason for delay , "out of our control " comes to mind.

In theory yes. You'll just have to claim and take it from there.

Are you saying they were flying back out of Stanstead at 5.40am the same morning 28th May
They travelled down from Manchester by car to Stansted arriving 3:00 am for the 5:40 am flight to Mahon.
After being told the flight was delayed until 18:00 pm same day , it was subsequently cancelled. They flew on the same flight of the next morning 29th ( Tuesday). No reasons for the cancellation or delay were given , just collect your bags and leave the airport!
(As the return journey was to be on the Friday they also had to rearrange flights back on the Saturday to get full value from holiday.)
    Regards
    Steve

Firstly what was the flight no for the first flight that was canceled. Second, where did they go, did they go home or stay at the airport. If they stayed at the airport they were owed a duty of care which would mean meals and a hotel. Who did they fly home with

    Thomas Cook MT 1428.
An Airport Hotel, receipts all saved.
Thomas Cook - ( arranged with them at no extra cost, back to Manchester not Stansted , which was more convenient)
    Thank you for your responses:T

Have they offered compensation for the cancelled flight? if not have you asked them for a reason for the cancellation? EU Claim cannot find your flight details. Put them into bottonline and see what they say

ok, Just put your flight details then into bottonline and you will get a good idea of your chances of a claim. The only way to get the reason for the delay will be to take them to court. Where was the flight to.

    Hello, you knowledgeable lot!!!

We had a 23 hour delay on return from our holiday a couple of weeks ago.
The pilot advised we could claim!!! And mentioned the reason for the delay was a technical fault on the Thursday prior which had knocked all subsequent flights using that plane.

However I can find no details of our claim. Exclaim, says no compensation due. Not tried bottomline as I don't want to be inundated with calls.
Even when we landed at Gatwick, the luggage claim displayed the previous days date for our flight alone. All very bizarre tbh.

I HAVE already initiated a claim but wondered if any one can help and tell me if you should be entitled.

    Original flight 26May BOJ 14.10 - LGW 15.40
    Actual flight 27May BOJ 13.30 - LGW 15.00

The actual flight times are approx by my watch not the airline as we've been unable to find any details of the delayed flight.

The only costs we incurred as we remained in our AI hotel, was extra car park fees which I've claimed for also.

As you say EUClaim say no compensation. You will need to see what bottonline say otherwise your only option would be to take them to court to get the real reason for the delay.

It's becuase our rescheduled flight doesn't appear on the searches.
I don't know if it's because it was the same flight number or another reason.
If you look up the flight number MT1503, there is no arrival time, late or otherwise.

I have applied to Thomas cook for compensation. I mean even the pilot suggested it!!!

Surely if I put my details into bottomline I'll be inundated with call and/or emails trying to persuade me to use their services?
