Where was your flight to and from?
Edit, Just looked at your previous posts and see it was a 400 euro per person claim
£285.64 per person and todays exchange rate, So if you think of it that way its not too bad,0 -
Just had another email from TC re the cause of delay to flight.
Cause in their first reply dated 15/05/15:
"Following the review, under EC Regulation 261/2004 your case has been re-assessed and I can see from the aviation report that your delay was caused by a manufacturing defect of a part we had replaced on the aircraft. Based on this information under the revised EC Regulation 261/2004, technical faults due to manufacturing defects were not affected by the court ruling and remain classified as extraordinary circumstances, therefore I am unable to offer you compensation for your claim."
Cause in the reply they've just sent today:
"The reason for the delay is that crew found a deep cut in the No1 main when tyre this was caused by FOD and this means third party ground damage. Egypt air confirmed that this was outside limits for it to be flown and because of this there has to be engineers and and spares sent in from the UK."
Something fishy going on here, any thoughts anyone?0 -

Stop playing letter tennis - read Vauban's Guide - commence court proceedings.0 -
you have been given the same replies I got off TC, it does not make sense how can it be a defect part and then change it to a cut in the tyre, when we were all told at the beginning that it was a hole in the tyre. TC are digging their feet in. I am waiting for a reply off the CAA and Bott & Co, on another note how was ur room in the hotel that they put us in, ours was a total dump, and they are saying it was our fault not complaining at 1.30 in the morning and not getting moved, but after been in the airport from 4.30pm we were too tired and upset and did not fancy walking down 2 flights of stairs with the luggage back to the reception after it took us 30 minutes to find the room in the first place0

I received my compensation today, this is within 3 weeks of the flight being delayed. I used the template on this site which was perfect, there was 3 of us travelling got a total of £1,300 compensation for a 4 and half hour flight delay due to engineer work.

I was on flight TCX3229 from Corfu to Glasgow on 25/05/2015 and was delayed for a total of 3 hr 12 minutes (due to arrive 1740, arrived 2052). I lodged a claim for compensation the following day then received a reply stating that my claim had been refused as their investigation found that the delay was only 2 hr 50 minutes!
I contacted them by phone and email to ask them how they had reached this figure but they just palmed me off by saying that's what their records showed. Even when I sent them a picture of the arrivals screen at the airport and a screenshot of the Flightstats website, both showing the 3r 12 min delay, they still maintain compensation is not due. I can't think of any other explanation other than they're deliberately trying to mislead me!!
They've advised I contact the CAA which I'll probably do but as the flight was from Greece, I assume I need to go to the Greek regulator?
Has anybody come across this with Thomas Cook? Am I right about the Greek regulator? Has anybody had any success through the Greek regulator?0 -

You have all the evidence that you require to prove that you are entitled to compensation, they are just trying to fob you off.
You would have to go through the Greek NBA, not the CAA, but don't bother with them. They cannot make the airline pay you even if they find in your favour, therefore, it's a pointless exercise.
Read Vaubans great guide and follow the advice therein.

Thank you - that's really helpful.
Does contacting the Greek authorities strengthen my position at all for court action or am I as well just going straight to small claims?
Do you know if I can lodge a claim for my infant? We paid a £20 fee but she didn't have her own seat.
Thanks again0 -

Contacting them will not help, it will just delay you. I contacted the Spanish NEB and they found in my favour. When I presented the document to the judge he said his court would make up it's own mind, and pushed it to one side. It was completely ignored.
Issue an LBA/NBA followed by court proceedings.
Your infant qualifies for compensation even if you only paid a reduced fair, if he/she was completely free of charge then he/she would not qualify. It does not matter whether he/she had a seat or not.

It's worth plugging away with your claim. Our flight from Rhodes to Glasgow in June 2013 was delayed over 4 hrs. Initial claim was rejected by TC as 'extraordinary circumstances'. Followed MSE advice and contacted Greek CAA by email - reply within a day and a half!!!, with copy of their correspondence to TC. When no word after 6 weeks, Greeks again sent claim to TC and copied to me. TC then contacted me to settle within 2 / 3 weeks. Cheque followed soon after - €400 per passenger, and even better news, conversion of currency was at time of delay, so £672.00 in total. Don't give up!!!0
