Sorry. Originally posted in general thread
Has anyone else received a telephone call from the Monarch legal department?
We received the first one a few weeks ago offering to pay our Court fee if we withdrew our claim (details in Post 489)
We have this afternoon received a further call asking why we had not replied to their offer going on to say that it expired at close of play today. The caller was advised that we were not accepting their reason for EC and that we were awaiting sight of their defense. The caller then stated that she "will guarantee that we will be fighting this case wholeheartedly and will be putting together a defense tomorrow"
According to my calculations they have until 12th March to submit their defense.
Is it normal practice for legal people to behave in this manner?0 -

Not at all, this is very unprofessional but then again it is Monarch...... I'd certainly disclose all this if it is heard in court.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -

CTRL + F will give you a small search box, just enter the flight number (eg 759) and press ENTER.
This will highlight any instance of that number and even tell you how many times it appears.
Simples! And so much easier than ploughing through all those flights so carefully entered by our mentor, Mark2spark.
Is it me?...All I get is every 'F' highlighted in yellowI'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -

If this wasn't so sad it would be funny. I think no one believes Monarch is really looking after the interests of their (former) passengers. So why make such an offer? I think that's pretty clear. Especially when they desperately try to pursue. It's like double-glazing salesman.
My advice is make a counter-offer. You'll drop the interest owed if they pay you the compensation owed, plus the court fee.;)0 -

Completely unprofessional and unlikely to be from Monarchs legal department, who would be bound by a code of conduct from the Law Society.
I suggest you get the names of the purported Law Firm that is calling you and report them.
If you can record any future calls that would be good.
IMO Monarch are worried. I'm going to re-read your circs now.0 -

Two other posters have previously PM'd me to advise of similar treatment by Monarch. It's clearly being done as a matter of policy.0 -
Yes I've just searched my inbox and also have the name of the 'group lawyer' that is making these calls.
I would investigate more if I were the recipient of the call(s) and report them.0 -

Myself partner and child were delayed on a Monarch Flight ZB648 from Manchester to Larnaca on the 13th September 2012 due to a technical fault with the plane i submitted claim forms to Monarch on the 13th December 2012 and have today received an email back that our claim is successful :j€400 each and cheque is on it's way...
This gives me hope!!
posted my original claim at the beginning of Feb this year, no reply as yet so sent in my NBA today! With my first letter I also sent a letter they had given me on the night of check-in which says....
2 September 2012
Re: ZB647 Larnaca to Manchester
Dear customer
We apologise for the delay to your flight to Manchester today.
Due to a technical problem with the aircraft scheduled to operate your flight arrangements have been made for you to travel on an alternative Monarch aircraft and we are waiting for it to return from a previous flight.
I was delayed 9 hours plus the flight before (ZB648 manchester to larnaca) was delayed for over 4 hours!
So it seems I have a technical problem and a knock on effect. does anyone spot any problems that I may encounter?
Just checking my insurance policies to see if they will cover my court costs!0
