Second attempt at claiming - refused late 2012/early 2013. Decided to resubmit at end of 2014 using MSE template and after 2 'holding' emails today received email confirming compensation of £436.74 per passenger.

    Yay!!!!!:T
  • I am still waiting for a reply from Monarch about a five hour delay from Mahon to Manchester. They ignore my emails and letters.
  • Congratulations! They ignore my complaints. I think I will get a solicitor.

Received e-mail earlier this week from Monarch confirming my claim for compensation for ZB742 London Gatwick to Malaga 09th September 2012.

It pays to persevere as they originally rejected the claim but getting the CAA on board seems to have changed their mind.

Hope it's not another 2 years before the cheque arrives.

    Knowing Monarch who knows!

So the CAA did something useful for a change ? :T to the CAA

    Congrats on your success.

After the lifting of the stay, my claim was transferred to a slightly less local court, and now it has been transferred back to my local court. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi klint,

Loads of cases were transfered to Liverpool as it is known as 'the center of excellence' regarding flight delays, If DJ Jenkinson had of ruled in a different way, perhaps your case would have ended at Liverpool, sounds all positive to me smile and await your success......

    Cheers,

  • Hi all - after almost 3 years of fighting, emails and CAA help we just had Monarch agreed to the compensation we are owed last month, without going to court. initially we were given the "extraordinary circumstances" excuse for a technical fault but we kept going and now it's done. If you feel you're owed it don't give up. We nearly did.

We're still fighting them. Gave them a deadline for court action and just received yet another holding email (the 4th one now) so filling in the court forms tomorrow. We are approaching 6 years in June so I think they are hoping we will just go away!

Exactly. No point in letter tennis - especially if you are nearly out of time.
