Monarch delays & Compensations. Listed flights denied in O.P.

4 of us were travelling on the flight which was delayed for 26 hours. We wrote to Monarch and they refused compensation but paid our out of pocket expenses. Since the new ruling, we wrote again and requested that they reassess our claim. They did this and last week we received a cheque for £1200.00. So everyone, it is worth persevering with it for the sake of a couple of letters.0

Well congratulations and well done, I personally was unaware that Monarch had started to pay out claims WITHOUT legal action?!?!?
I'm sure our monarch expert will clarify what's going on with monarch but very good news for you.
Congrats

I have seen quite a few now saying they have been paid (or promised to be) without legal action0 -
So, good news - I had my claim compensation accepted by Monarch, however, I was told a cheque has been sent out, but it's still not arrived. I know the rest of my party (3 other people) have all received their cheques (1.5 weeks ago and we all live in the same town), and we're now outside the promised time in which I had to receive my cheque - I don't suppose anyone has any advice on what I do now? Has anyone else experienced the same? Thanks0

Monarch flight M1875 Mytilene to Manchester 2nd June 2012 delayed 27 hours Have agreed compensation after 12 month previously claiming exceptional circumstance. We contacted Hellenic CAA so resubmitted in November. Now success but payout less due to poor exchange rate. But hey ho, thanks to MSE for help and letter templates.0

The exchange rate thing works both ways. If the rate had gone up, you'd have got more.0

Hi all. I was on a flight from sharm to Manchester in 2013. We landed 2hrs 54mins late but had to wait 20mins for the stairs to appear from another flight that was emptying with passangers. This would have taken it to over 3 hrs. My question is could I be owed anything? I know the amount for that distance is for 4 hrs on any grid ive looked at for the distance but could it fall into the lower category payout for 400 euros or 300 euros?
Many thanks!0 -

This is an interesting one, because the actual time that is used is not the landing time but the actual time the aircraft door is opened to allow you to depart. However, some evidence of the delay would be very helpful any photos showing the time the doors were opened, admittedly you don't always think at the time to do that.
So you are likely to be entitled to 300 Euros per passenger according to the regs, what does http://www.flightstats.co.uk/home say for your particular flight ?
Cheers,
NoviceAngel
EDIT Just seen this post from 111KAB, http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=67773420&postcount=6564 also on the same subject. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

My bet is that even though the stairs were not in place the main passenger door was released so that ACARS recorded the time as by 2013 the airlines were starting to realise 261/2004 implications.0

Thanks for the fast reply. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos at all on landing. Flight stats don't give a time at all for landing. But tho it's maybe not 100% accurate I used I used the Gatwick archives site that stats it was 2 hrs 54 mins....sorry I did say Manchester originally. It would be impossible for us to have had the doors open in that time as when we landed we had to drive about for a while before getting a parking space, so say that adds another few mins after originally hitting the runway.I've just had 900 back from Thomson so thought it was worth a try with monarch....and Thomson were a fight! Lol
Thanks again0
