I see other airlines are starting to pay out after the SC decsions, come on now monarch finger out!!!
  • I was in the same position, but wrote asking them to release - under the Data Protection Act - confirmation of my presence on the flight; they are legally obliged to do this. With this evidence a NWNF company took on my case.
  • Me and my family were delayed on flight mon303 from Manchester to Sanford on 29/6/12 and I've received the following from monarch. Looking for opinions on where I stand please

Our records show that the aircraft that operated your flight suffered impact damage after being struck by Air steps. As a result the aircraft was removed from service until the damage could be rectified. As a result your flight was changed to another aircraft, the replacement aircraft then suffered a low pressure warning message which required investigation by our engineers. The fault was rectified and the aircraft declared serviceable. Despite Monarch’s best efforts, there was no further availability within our fleet to transfer passengers to an alternative aircraft. As a consequence, the departure of your flight was unavoidably delayed.

Having considered the factual background of this case, we are satisfied that the disruption was caused by an extraordinary circumstance that could not have reasonably been prevented by Monarch Airlines. We are, therefore, unable to accept your claim for compensation for the reasons given.

  • Hi
Just joined so new to all this.
Can anyone give me some advice please.
I put in a claim with Monarch for my daughter and I as we were delayed 3+ hours from faro to London this June. I claimed for roughly just over £600. I received a reply finally! but they said they were compensating me £307, half of what I originally claimed for, and the cheque should be with me within 28 days. Therefore they are only compensating for one of us not both.
Obviously, I would like the full amount, so before I write back to them can I get some advice from anyone that has encountered this or a similar situation. (What to say in my reply etc etc) I am unsure whether or not to accept the cheque or not, surely if I accept it its a done deal for them?
    Cheers

    Hello Magicalfifi,

No doubt Monach will try and avoid paying what is rightly due, I would start by reading Vaubans excellent guide, then re-post any questions you have after reading it.

    Cheers,
