Please read the FAQs where you will find all the information that you need. There is a thread for Monarch airlines if you do need to ask any further questions.0 -
Coverage of a Telegraph press article today in this FB link....

I was on a Monarch flight from Luton to Palma Majorca on 12/9/09. When we arrived and checked in at the airport there was a notice to say the flight was delayed and we were given some vouchers. Instead of arriving in the afternoon, we arrived late at night, after a really long delay. I know it was over three hours.
The very next day, we had a call from home to say a very close relative had died, I remember phoning monarch to ask how to change the flight home, I was in a bit of a panic and shocked at the lack of help telling me all their flights were full. My son booked me a flight home from the UK with a different airline.
On returning home I did actually write a letter about the delay and the unhelpful member of staff I had spoken to. They refunded the homeward taxes from the tickets which were donated to charity.
Anyway, I have checked the delayed flight checker as per the newsletter but the flight is not showing as delayed.
I also have not got any proof of being on the flight apart from the correspondence as per above.
Any advice? Should I just let this drop?0 -
Hello,
I hope someone hasn't already posted this question and I've missed it, as I have read through as many of the posts on this thread and the main page as possible. Apologies in advance if I'm duplicating anything.
Eleven friends and I were delayed for approx. 7 hours on Friday 13th May 2011 (good choice of date to go on holiday?)... I have spoken to a no win no fee company who have informed me that we're eligible to claim. My question relates to compensation as a group booking. I have received conflicting information:
I was told by the NWNF company that only the person who made the group booking needs to process the claim. Also, they are under no legal obligation to share the compensation with the others on the booking - however, I have also been informed by someone else that all 12 of us need to process the claim individually.
Please can anyone point me in the direction of what is right? I don't want just one of us to apply for the claim to discover it needs all 12 to do it, likewise I don't want to have to try to round 12 people up to fill out forms etc. to discover it wasn't necessary.
I am not sure at this stage if any of the others have applied for compensation relating to this flight - would that have an impact if they did?
Many thanks for your time

If you are talking about submitting the court claim yourself i.e. not using a NWNF company then you can claim on behalf of others. Don't use MCOL, instead download the claim form and name all claimants. If any are children then also use form N235(?). Then also obtain a statement of authority from each claimant saying they authorise you to claim on their behalf and include these in your hearing bundle.
If you talking about a claim through a NWNF company then I guess each have their own T&Cs. Have you tried several firms as there are reputable and not so reputable ones around. Personally, and to paraphrase Vauban, I would opt for a NWNF firm who has had considerable success with landmark rulings in the past few months.0 -
Firstly you need to sort who is claiming and then decide who is up for court action and who wants to go no win no fee - however .... you may decide to reduce costs and just one of you (lead) apply then push your luck with Monarch and say you have paid out one now pay out the other 11. They are not forced to do so but it may work. You need to sort out if the others have applied to resolve duplication. I have also sent you a PM.0

I suggest you don't use the firm that told you this as it is 100% nonsense.0 -
Thank you.
I think I will do more research about this particular flight and get all 12 of us to complete the forms ourselves and send it all as one claim.
I saw the commission rates on the NWNF website and that put me off - it's nothing I can't do myself I'm sure.A vision without a plan is just a dream.0
