I'm hoping you can give me some advice. My dad has just passed his claim on to me in the hope I can sort it out, but I really have no idea where to begin.
He was on flight ZB759, Dalaman to Gatwick. Monarch said the 9 hour delay was due to extraordinary circumstances, although the CAA have said it wasn't. Should I get in touch with Monarch again, maybe including a scan of the CAA letter?
I see from the list on the first page of this thread that someone from that flight successfully took them to court, so I don't see how they can deny the claim now, but as I'm not an expert, I could be thinking better of them than I should :-)0 -

I think this was my flight. See post #3833 (Pg 192) as I have just received my money. The CAA letter doesn't really change much. I would have thought it was worth sending in a claim form and then appealing it.0 -
ZB535 palma to manc 28/06/14
18 hour delay due to engine fire mid flight on the flight BEFORE this one (manc to palma) so no plane available for the flight, took 18h to source a plane.

My family were booked on Monarch ZB581 Faro to Manchester onSaturday 10 July 2010 which was due todepart Faro at 11.35 and arrive in Manchester at 14.25. The actual flightarrived in Manchester at 23.13, a delay of 8 hours 48 minutes.
When we arrived in Faro Airport on the morning of the flightwe were given a letter from Monarch addressed to passengers of ZB595. Thisletter apologised to passengers of ZB595 for disruption to their flight stating‘operational procedures’ as the reason for the delay to their flight and informedthem that their flight will be combined with our flight ZB581, on a newaeroplane, a Monarch Airlines Airbus 330. ZB595 was originally due to leave at19.00. There was no explanation given as to why our flight was delayed and whenwe would be flying.
Ienclosed all my correspondence with Monarch, including the letter given topassengers at the airport, flight itinerary, the formal Monarch applicationforms for compensation and also Flight Stats information from the website andhave still been rejected on two separate occasions. Was anyone else passenger on thesefights and received any better news? How can I find out the real reason behindthe delay?
Cheers

I was delayed on the outward journey Manchester-Paphos on 27 December 2008. I don't remember which airline so wrote to Mercury Direct whom we booked the holiday with and they couldn't tell me the airline used. They did supply the names of airlines used. I thought that it had been either Monarch of Easy Jet and have written to both companies in March but have received no replies. I am stuck not knowing either the airlline used or the flight number but one does not hang on to this literature especially when I have moved twice in 8 months!. The plane3 should have left at 14.40 but due to not enough crew to fly it (not back from the Xmas break) it didn't leave until 18.45. I recorded these details in my diary. Does anyone know how to find out the details I require please. ankertie0
