Hi
I was on the same delayed flight from Dubrovnik as you ( got same email) and have only found out about compensation. I wonder if Monarch are just trying to pass onto insurance to save them paying out. I am going to send a direct claim to Monarch. Would be good for us to keep in touch to see what happens. I'm wondering whether insurance would only cover minimal claim for expenses.0 -

You'd be lucky if it did that. Any airline peddling that kind of nonsense should be ashamed. (Yeah, right!)0 -
Good article for consumer here which is a leap forward
Not suggesting you need a lawyer but the result is good newssausage_man wrote: »Hi

Not sure how you worked out it was the same flight from the info given, but if you look at the Monarch thread you will see that the same rejection wording is used for many many flights0 -
...are all Monarch flights with technical difficulties delayed for 7.5 hrs ?0

No. But that doesn't prove you were on the same flight: Monarch have loads of delays, and I suspect more than one was about 7.5 hours recently. But it doesn't change the price of fish of course - you still need to pursue your own claim.0 -
Hi all,
Apologies if this has come up before but I couldn't find anything on the standard CAA guidelines or elsewhere on here.
We were delayed for 4 hours on a Manchester - Lanzarote flight on the 31st May 14 apparently due to baggage handlers not loading our luggage, it seemed there wasn't enough of them to load all the flights.
Has anyone had this before or has a view on whether we can hold Monarch responsible for this kind of incident?
Thanks

the baggage handlers/service company are contracted to the airline, so airline are responsible. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Further to our last communication, I can confirm that Monarch Airlines are aware that Jet2 have publicly confirmed that they intend to lodge an application to the Supreme Court to seek leave to appeal the Huzar judgment. As a result, due to the uncertainty of the law which is directly related to your claim, it would be inappropriate to review your case until clarification in this respect is received.
The Supreme Court remains in session until the end of July and will not return until October. It is therefore highly unlikely that the application will be considered before the recess.
We do appreciate that this is taking longer than expected and we are sorry for any frustration this is causing. We can assure you however that we will contact you again when the decision regarding whether leave to appeal is granted by the Supreme Court.
Thank you again for your continued patience.
More stalling from monarch0
