Monarch delays & Compensations. Listed flights denied in O.P.

FlightMole are probably not the best firm to (try and) run with at the moment. .
Are they/he still trading? The website refers to a Facebook and Twitter account neither of which appear to have any entries post-July. Earlier entries on Facebook are chasing responses. The postal contact looks like a residential address. There's no indication what legal qualifications the business or its owner possess.
I would personally be wary of reading to much into their/his refusal to take a case on.0 -
I am in the process of claiming compensation through the small claims court for a 26 hour delay to this flight due to technical and operational difficulties. If any fellow passengers have any letters from monarch explaining reasons for the delay, that they could pass on to me it would be greatly appreciated. This would help my case and aid other future claimants.
Many thanks sheffowl65

You do not need a few hours at this stage. Ten minutes, maybe 15 minutes, and it's very easily done online.
You will need a couple of hours much later on. The courts are slow. I put my claim in about 6 months ago and I am still waiting for a hearing date.0 -
Is it really that easy? Assumed I would need to sit and study all the bumph on page 1 first?
I really dont think monarch have a leg to stand on though, and Monarchs attitude just fires me up to keep at it, but obviously keen to get it straight and right. Got a frantic few days but hopefully by early next week I can look at this properly.
My only slight worry is I have seen from a few cases that Monarch have had the court hearings moved to Luton, that would be a total pain in the bum for me, although as I am in the South East not impossible, I would get there!
Thanks for that.0 -

That would help, but you only need to study it enough to be able to write a one- or two-paragraph summary of your claim. The better you word it, the more seriously Monarch will probably take you.My only slight worry is I have seen from a few cases that Monarch have had the court hearings moved to Luton, that would be a total pain in the bum for me, although as I am in the South East not impossible, I would get there!
Still, most cases are heard in the claimant's local court. Even if you do have to go to Luton, it's fairly easy from the South East - there's a train from Sevenoaks to Blackfriars and from there on to Luton. Luton County Court is very near the station. And you will be able to claim your second-class return train fare from Monarch when you win the case.0 -

How shameful that you have to go back to court though
If you were to see the damning evidence in their defence, you would realise just how shameful !
The only sense i can make of it is that they consider the £70 small claims initial fee money well spent, to buy a four month delay (getting to court)and then another month time to pay after the judgement. Their attitude is so cynical (lost causes etc) i am considering taking separate claims for the three people involved and having legal representation at each one, this will cost me 25 percent of the award but will cost them another five grand in costs when they lose, vindictive i know but they really deserve it !!0 -

Not sure I understand. Monarch don't pay for your legal costs (bar the court application fees) even if they lose. The expense for them comes with employing a barrister - but to be honest I'd be very surprised it they contested subsequent claims for this flight, if you have a copy of the judgement in your case.
Mind, I don't under-estimate Monarch's ability to behave unreasonably and against their own interests ...0 -
I have been waiting over a month for a decision by a judge in Luton to look at my request to have my case moved back to the North West of England. Told i could be waiting some time - but when you get this far I believe you have to see it through.
This is just more of monarchs shameful delaying tactics its a disgrace
You are correct you have to stick to your principles (it takes as long as it takes).
Really i dont know why i am surprised at the cynical attitude being taken by monarch as its the same level of disregard for customer satisfaction that they show throughout all their operations !!0
