Hi,
Sorry, am a bit confused now - would I contact the UK or Greek NEB? The delay was from Manchester but they are citing Greek ATC strikes even though the announcement on the plane was totally different and said technical fault.
Thanks all, Tigger31.
You contact the NEB of country of departure, if you were going MAN - Greece, then it's down to the UK NEB (which is the CAA) so I wouldn't bother.
Edit: They can probably advise you re the strike, but won't be able to enforce anything.0 -
They deserve all they get. The wheels of justice grind very slow, so they much have had numerous opportunities to resolve the matter.
But we all know how they like to ignore things, bury their heads in the sand and hope it goes away. This time it has come to bite them.
Hope it makes prime time TV.
Can you still see the news on the MonarchComplaints Facebook page? I can't find it. I'm sure it was there, because Google can find it, but when you then click on the search result, it's not there.0 -

I have read what i can on E.C. but i am a little unsure if it is or not as for the corrosion part but am i correct in thinking that it was caused by the general running of the plane therefore not being an E.C?
Our records show due to an aircraft experiencing a main landing gear fault whilst in Tenerife we were unable to operate your flight to its scheduled time of departure. Following extensive investigation and troubleshooting our engineers were required to disassemble the gear in order to locate the fault. After disassembly our engineers found the fault to lie with an electrical connector that was found to have sustained corrosion and contamination to the connector pins, this fault was an extremely rare event which was also hidden due to the nature of the part and therefore could not have be foreseen until it occurred.
Despite our best efforts there was no availability in the UK or Europe to offload your flight to another carrier, therefore to minimise the disruption we transferred your flight to the first available aircraft within the Monarch fleet.

Ginster 67 - a technical problem is not an extraordinary circumstances - don't let Monarch get away with it!0

thanks for the rapid response ,from what i have read the caa are not worth bothering am i correct in thinking next course of action should be notifying them of my intent to go to the small claims ? or should i reply to Monarch first with the news that it isnt covered by ec. in my opinion or quote Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 to them?
Thanks0 -
Ginster 67 - CAA only relevant if flight was departing UK but you are correct reference waste of time. Court or Monarch - really depends upon how much time you have but extremely unlikely Monarch will change their mind so off to Court after NBA - good luck.0

Ref ZB827 Dalaman - Luton (677)
Very annoyed with Flightmole . Not heard a dicky bird since assigning the case ( 4 persons) in April. Wrote and gave Flightmole 14 days to respond and update me only for them to tell me that they cannot pursue as the CAA are currently mediating!!!! Flightmole have known this since June.
'
You appear to have alreadyplaced this claim in the hands of others-namely the CAA-for them to bothinvestigate the grievance you placed before them and their role as mediator. Inany event it would not normally be appropriate to present any dispute before acourt whilst alternative dispute mechanisms were outstanding.'
Are Flightmole correct in that I cannot take this to court until the CAA have finished a review? CAA told me in June that this could take months0
