No response from Monarch's EU claim people as yet (of course), but an odd episode with their social media team ...
Now I think that the social media team are being pretty good in the circumstances. They have done some basic things (like update people) that other bits of Monarch's operation have failed to do. The woman called Maria has been helpful in particular.
However, after waiting for an update that never materialised I made some tart remark on Monarch's facebook page (a cathartic experience, well worth the two minutes). Monarch quickly came back to say that we had just had a phone call the day before, so why was I complaining? I replied that we had no phone call, and they must be confusing me with someone else. But Monarch have since reiterated that they spoke to me last Thursday to discuss my claim.
Now I'm fairly certain that they spoke to no one about my case, and must be confusing me with someone else. All the other elements of this process have been hopelessly chaotic, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. But what if they did actually talk to a stranger about my claim? What might the "alternative" me have said - and been told? I'm a little bit concerned to be honest ...
Doesn't inspire confidence though, does it?0 -

I wouldnt be concerned, sure they wouldnt even tell me over the phone the outcome of my claim, even when it was decided0 -
Packs Sue a picnic for her long wait.....and will have sandwiches delivered every other day..0

ive now handed my claim over to flight mole (aviation loss consultants) who treat its as a debt owed, They are in a better position than me to take the necessary legal action, Will cost me 30% of any claim but its not much more than I would have to risk to take to court myself.0

Will ALC actually go to a court hearing in person for you?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

But Centipede100 and Mark2spark are both expert aviation loss consultants and their rate is 0%. It's really not so hard to claim your own consumer rights you know.0 -
Whatever you feel more comfortable with Glentoran.
I'm sure it'll be a lot easier for people in 6 - 9 months time when an abundance of successful claims are being reported, following the court starting to shift the backlog.
Not really an expert Blondmark, just adding my tuppence worth as I understand things to try and help people along (in the spirit of MSE). But thanks for the nod0 -

People's patience here never ceases to amaze me. At the risk of stating the obvious, 14 days' notice is all you need either to agree settlement or issue a claim. If they insist they need more time to obtain reports and data on your flight, then another 7-14 days is more than enough.

Monarch are stating that some letters with NBA and 14 day terms are not even opened before the 14 days are up!0

That's probably right but that's their lookout. They don't actually have to engage with the litigation process if they don't want to. Their only obligation is to allow the bailiffs to remove their property when it comes to enforcing judgments.0
