Remember, life is a journey. If you got everything you wanted all at once there'd be no point to living. Enjoy the ride, and in the end you'll see these 'setbacks' as giant leaps forward, only you couldn't see the bigger picture in the moment. Remain calm, all is within reach; all you have to do is show up every day, stay true to your path and you will surely find the treasure you seek.

Many thanks for the quick reply.
I have checked and I think the French air traffic strike finished on the 12th of June.We did have the same pilot as he commented on having to fly straight back and not having a good stopover.
so its OK to play catch up in the hours, the pilot didnt have a good stopover ( what no Martinis, the stewardesses a little ugly?)
Air strike 2 days previously, up yer bayonet Monarch

Like the Good Lord himself, Vauban helps those who help themselves.

Not because he's mean but rather because, frankly, if you can't be bothered to read extensively the invaluable information provided on this forum, you are wasting your own time, as well as that of the folk you expect to read and respond to your postings. (Plus if you're cluttering the place up with unhelpful posts, that is just rude to alto other users.)

Charming? Charming enough, I reckon. ;)
  • Don't worry about it - fill in what you can. Flightstats.co.uk has historic flight times (you may need to register) but if you don't know the exact details, it doesn't really matter. If you've got your flight itenerary you'll have the flight number and scheduled times - and if you have your booking reference so much the better.

But these are basically hoops that Monarch present, hoping they'll deter you. Jump through them if you can do it easily, but don't sweat it if not. Regardless you are likely to have a fight on your hands - Monarch aren't playing very nice.

Unfortunately if you read FlightStats T & C's the last one says you cannot use their information for a claim under regulation EC261/2004! Which leaves the question why?
Also on the letter sent by Monarch they say they will only pay 50% of possible compensation because we were delayed less than 4hrs.
Surely if it has been set up that airlines are to pay compensation why are they trying to wriggle out of their obligations & not just suck it up like the banks!
Thanks for all the useful replies.
