that I ask to join the roll of honour on the court success thread.
After a very fraught day yesterday emailing back and forward with Monarch I stood my ground and went to court this morning.

Monarch tried phoning the court to get an extension but had to settle my claim in full with interest at 8% plus court fees. We estimate that to come to just over £3400.They have a month to pay by cheque and for it to clear

Mr Russetred has just put the Hiedseck in to chill.

Thank you so much to everyone on here who have helped me with my questions and given me so much support. You gave me the strength to have my day in court.

My only regret is no one will ever see my witness statement which I worked so hard on :rotfl:but hey I think I can live with that!

Should I feel confident myself? I have just received Acknowledgment of Service in which Morgan Mulay, Group Lawyer, intends "to defend all of this claim".

They could save everyone's time and money by just paying up and not putting us to the hassle of court. Not that I will be deterred. This forum has only added to my resolve.

To recap, the First Officer called in sick prior to the previous flight to ours.

My Acknowledgement of Service on 23/5 was from Ms or Miss Mulay and was identical to yours - hence my surprise last week when they agreed to meet the claim in full rather than defend the claim.
I sense that after all the delaying tactics, they are re-evaluating court claims more realistically and folding where they know they have no chance.
So stick with your resolve - patience and persistence as the senior pros of this thread would advise - your day will come.
  • Just been on the phone to Monarch and surprisingly got through to them quickly.
    Standard response re. late cheque.
There's a backlog in the accounts department but they're chasing them up every day. No eta....
    The wait continues...

It does not take long to transfer money from one bank account to another. Thomsons wanted to take a fortnight with our claim, we said if it wasn't in our account by the following Friday 4 days ahead we were going to submit the papers to the court. Surprise surprise it was there next day by bank transfer.
