thank you so much for any help i may get

The simplest answer is to ring the claim team and ask them.

Just say the date of the flight, where you went from and to, and they will give you the flight number. It'll probably be something like MON303. Their number is 01582 531712, they stop taking calls at 13:30 though, so try tomorrow.

Hi Everyone, I’m about to fill in my MCOL against Monarch, Just wanted some clarification on interest calculation ,Would it be from the original date of delay (17th July 2007) or when I first registered the claim with Monarch (28th November 2012)? Thanks for your help

Have they made an offer and also have you agreed.
If so push them I did with Thomsons and they paid within 24 hours we threatened to still go to court.

Actually I turned up for court but Monarch did not. They asked for a continuance so they could negoiate a settlement with me. They told the court they were eager to settle so could I telephone them as soon as I left the court. I did the lawyer was unavailable and I have heard nada since. Roll on 27 June!

Are you 100% certain the ball is in their court (tennis court that is, not law court)? Did you make it clear to them that you expect their lawyer to ring you back?

ALL the various delaying tactics are to discourage claims and to also spread the eventual cost over as long a period as possible, what they are not taking into account is the loss of good will and how it will absolutely ruin their reputation, personally i cant see them surviving !

Received Monarch claim form yesterday. See section 3....

Guidance on Regulation 261/2004

1) EU Regulation 261/2004 provides that, in the event of cancellation or long delay, passengers are entitled to compensation in certain situations.
2) If your flight arrived at its destination more than 3 hours behind schedule, then you may be entitled to compensation. The amounts of compensation payable are:
i) Euro 250 for flights of 1500km or less
ii) Euro 400 for Intra-Community flights of greater than 1500km & all other flights between 1500 and 3500km
iii) Euro 600 for all other flights

3) Should your flight have arrived more than 3 hours after its scheduled time of arrival, but less than 4 hours, then any compensation you would be entitled to will be reduced by 50%.

4) You may not be entitled to compensation despite suffering a delayed flight where the delay was caused by Extraordinary Circumstances.

All, the response (for ZB685, Sharm-Man, 28/10/12, 6 hrs delay) I have had received is as follows. Do you think it is worthing pursuing :-

---
An aircraft on a flight the previous day to Malaga suffered a "bird strike" as it took off. The flight returned to the airport for safety checks - 3 fan blades were found be damaged / aircraft declared as unserviceable. Passengers/crew transferred to next available aircraft which was the next day (28/10/12).

On arrival at malaga, the crew had exceeded their legal flying hours so the crew had to 'night stop' to operate the flight the next day. Your flight was thus displaced from the planned operational schedule resulting in the delay. No other Monarch aircraft were available at this time and use of a 3rd party aircraft would have increased the delay.

Therefore, EC....
