Didn't manage a NSD yesterday as had to pay (horribly high) postage for horse tack that I'd sold (note to self, full size, hind travel boots are taller than any box or bag you will have in your house...).
BUT, today I'm going to have another go. DH has taken kids to school, so I won't be going to C0sta with friends. I'll miss the chat, but it will save £4 or so, plus parking and whatever I'd have to buy in Herr A to cover parking.
Is it cheating to plan NSDs on days you don't intend to be near a shop, rather than just achieving them by force of will?"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
have to admit i dont count nsd, i tried them once but felt it was too restrictive, i just worked more on not parting with money unless i have to, it works well for me and has started to make me think about money more closely, it also gives me the excuse to go for a walk for one thing at a time ( say i need some garlic, i walk up the street and buy a garlic nothing else)0

Ooooh, being able to walk to a shop, I remember it fondly! Living in the sticks is lovely in many ways, but I do miss local shops. And pavements. And gas. And public transport. Lol!
Managed my NSD in the end. I had to do some housework and you would have laughed to see just how long I managed to put it off. Of course, when I actually DID it, it was fine. I'm just rubbish at making myself do things that I don't want to!
Am getting a little anxious about my weekend away this week. It has been booked for a long time and I can't cancel it without losing most of the cost anyway. I know I should just throw myself into it and enjoy it, but I'm struggling not to fret about the cost (£500 ish). Maybe I should get DH to pay for everything and then I could have 3 NSDs & be all chuffed! Would be a nice idea if we didn't have joint finances....."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Where are you off too?
I'm kinda semi rural, I live on the outskirts of town, close enough for gas, cable and to walk it to where I need but far enough away from the neds at the weekend kinda thing
It suits me tbh ... Although I think I could go more rural, don't think I could go more closer0 -

No, because then I'd have none0 -

I SO hear you on this one!!!0 -
Almost a NSD today, but had to buy a £1 box of a biscuity snack thing, to reward kids for v good behaviour.
Rounded mortgage down £10. Is that what is meant by a Tilly tidy, Tilly? I do know what a TT isn't though..... Lol.
Have also just received a parking ticket for overstaying time in a car park, where the notice didn't state max time, if you were a customer. I've appealed and the parking forum on here insists that private companies cannot enforce a fine on land they don't own, and the sum of which does not reflect the actual loss ( you haven't paid for). Being advised to ignore this letter and any subsequent ones, but not sure if I will be abe to hold my nerve...."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." We're in the middle of a parking charge stand off, we didn't appeal and have ignored 4 letters so far, Mrs QBW is a bit worried and I'm trying to seem not bothered, I am a bit thoughStart Date 16/09/2015

It's nerve wracking isn't it. DH would rather like me to pay up, to avoid having to listen to me stressing about it. I've had one before, appealed and won. Think I'm going to stop shopping at Ald/, just too much hassle running the gauntlet of Parking Eye....."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
