The Long, Long Road to Mortgage Freedom

Aldi is very cheap (& decent quality) on what it does well. Tinned veg is esp good. I also use it for cupboard basics & cereals.
I may have been unlucky, but I've had 2 tickets now (both cancelled on appeal) and I've probably only used their car park a dozen times. The charges are not enforceable (see parking thread on here), but I don't really want the hassle.
I have shopped in S@insburys a couple of times recently and they seem to have become really good value too. I've only got access to a small shop, but my basic shop was cheaper there than in Morrisons."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." A quiet day on the OP front today.
Had a free trip to C0sta (just not my turn to pay) and paid in a cheque at the bank.had to shop in Waitrose as now too blinking minded/ nervous to park in Herr A, but only bought a few necessities that were on special offer.
I have decided to try and start a very small business, or get some pt work so that I can bring in a few £s. will have to be v v small scale though as I can only do during school hours. Must get thinking cap on!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Was very brave today and used the Herr A car park, running the gauntlet of Parking Eye. A very nice gentlemen came over to me as I parked, to warn me about their fines, having been caught himself. I felt very crusading pointing him to this site re. their unenforcability, lol.
DH had found some more euros kicking about and so I banked those and made a £19 OP.
Only other MFW activity was cooking a lasagne and a curry for the freezer. Most of my freezer seems taken up with chicken stock from the last S@insburys "more left over than you started with" small chicken. Very bizarrely, I also have lots of frozen prawns. Amy suggestions on what I can make with a load of prawns and the national collection of stock.???? :-)"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." Very little to report today.
Rounded mortgage down by a couple of pounds and spent v little, bar £40 replacing a casserole dish (a present) that I had broken. By being vv stupid....
Have done more batch cooking,so at least freezer is full."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Rounded down again, but going toDave to slow own on that Neil next payday...
Lovely day though. First, proper big bed arrived for DS2. He's SO excited. DS1 being particularly lovely too. Reminds me that I need to keep this all in perspective and enjoy the journey too.
Have a lovely weekend.

Oh dear, can't stop laughing! Really should read my own work..... :-)
It was something about having to slow down on OPs until DH's next payday as I'm running out of spare cash, lol!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Have just had mortgage details through and in January, we OP £983, saving £88 in interest.
So chuffed.
I sold a few things and won't be able to keep that up regularly, but wouldn't have done a penny of it without the inspiration from this board, so thank you all.

Spent a total of £5 today, on 4 tickets to kids film at a cineworld and the £1 bag of Mr T popcorn we took with us. Lovely!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0

A NSD today.
Funding OPs by not spending is great, but I really need to start bringing some cash in. Have got to be ingenious though as I won't get a job until DS2 is in ft school. I can eBay a bit of clutter, but tbh, most bits and bobs went as part of MFŴ phase 1 and more went to charity when we had the rebuild done.
I need to look into whether I can make any profit from buying stock in to eBay it. I'm not a good buyer though. Want to try Textbroker too (thanks Caz), but again, worry whether I can write well enough. I think that being a stay at home mum, saps your confidence a bit. I used to project manage v large projects, but now I am pleased if I get the house decently cleanish and make a lasagne! Lol."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0
