Is anyone else bored of going around in circles about a hypothetical problem that can only be solved by a non existant body
If you are bored, nobody forces you to come on this topic..

You have already started the legal process, so it is up to you to follow it through, rather than wasting your time trying to be amicable, which obviously isn't working.

The organisation may well be ignoring you because they think that you are abroad and therefore won't bother actually doing anything. Receiving court papers will show them that you do mean business and the result will either be them paying attention to you or continuing to ignore you and ending up with a court date and a possible CCJ.

Yes, it seems that I will have to do this.

Not when you have the law on your side. Like I alluded to the English legal system makes it fairly simple for individuals to take companies to court for breaches of contract, consumer rights etc. We don't need the likes of ombudsman in this type of scenario.
Sure but why resorting to Judicial measures when the matter could be sorted amicably.

Not being amicable to me does not mean they may not change their mind with an organisation that will bear more weight to my claim.

And we're back to square one again.

The organisation that you are looking for does not exist in the UK and your only possible option (European Consumer centre) is toothless and will in all probability be ignored by the company.

Yes, using them will give you an extra argument to use in you claim via the courts, but if your claim is as rock solid as you make out (and we've no way of knowing because you won't give details) then the judge would probably find for you anyway without the hassle/time of you going via the ECC.

I wouldn't have said reporting a company to an ombudsmen is any way amicable. Surely, it's gone beyond amicable at this point!

In England, consumers do not usually refer matters to the EEC.

You said England, but you meant UK, right?

Probably. I said England as I don't know if or how Scottish or NI consumer laws/procedures differ.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

At last, in post #53, you agree that court action may be the way forward.

This was suggested in post #8...

There is one. It's the UK's Courts system.

As I said before, I am not seeking advice as I know my rights

Trading Standards can only provide advice (which is not what I am seeking) to UK or non-UK residents as long as it involves UK but do not handle customer complaints.

This is the german equivalent of the EEC

Yes I know but you can only seize your local EEC center and as I said the French one was not able to help me because they have not got a clue of UK regulation, and the UK one redirects systematically to the French ones.

In which case then you will have to take your own court action - but I would suggest you tread carefully as court action in the UK can be weak against companies that don;t want to comply with the law. Its one thing winning but its another thing actually enforcing the judgement.

I dunno which company you are up against but clearly if it is not a big one and they are online only it might be even harder enforcing the judgement if you cannot lcoate their physical location (not all web store sput up their proepr address).
